Tell me what you would did if you are putin.... ?? (I will read it very like at the morning, I had to go sleep).
But think about it not as somebody's territory but think that it was your land and 60-80% people are russian there....and that you are not small useless state but member of g8 where everybody is able defend its people or territory... (ok, not everyone in g8 is able do it...but it doesnt matter now :-) )

Sorry, I'm not an authoritarian leader, so it's rather pointless to answer that question. I think I'm rather close with disagreeing with everything he stands for.

You set up the word "wrong" on same level, no matter that in one case there was dead people and destroyed country and in second case not.

That is the point. They didnt. Rich east part was against it. West poor part want it. So Kiev decided. But obviously somebody tried to help them and make maidan and abuse it for aggressive joining EU.
So the east part said: "no,we want get back under russia".

You have bad information. We both know that Ukraine dont have chance for better life in EU, EU just need its territory and resources. Just imagine, our new EU oil :-). Ukraine is so poor, that EU can give them just free moving so most of them can move to germany, but there will be limitation for this, so no benefit for them.

Russia will not help much them too, but Russia give them oil for 50% so their industry can exist. We will see what will happen with Ukraine, cos from 1.4. they are getting full price from Russia. Then we can talk again what is better for them if EU or Russia.

I judge everyone I want. I don't need to be similar to judge him. He is an authoritarian, egocentric, imperialistic and immoral leader who belongs more in prison than in a president seat. (The same applies more or less for Obama.)

For now. Yes, he has succeeded in getting Crimea back to Russia. His country is virtually bankrupt though and corrupt at every level. He's an illusionist, yes, and maybe he even had the support of the Russians. But then again, the communists once had a big support too, but see where it led them to.

So yeah, he has obtained a victory here. But Russia is far from being strong. It only looks strong.

Let me assure you: Putin will never invade the Baltic States or Poland. He's not crazy. He knows he cannot touch any of the NATO-countries because then he'll be bombed to the ground. The NATO defense alliance is the strongest military alliance in the world. Even Hitler would not attack that if he lived today (and were a Russian, so he would probably be called Hitlin, with the end -in all great Russian leaders have had :p).

If tommorow will come Putin to Riga there would be not war (except Estonian army) and majority of Russians would applaud. What actually stops Putin to do it is not military power. Its just not worthy in terms profit/loss. ¨

Thats why I realy do not understand Crimea. He problably won Crimea and destroyed Ukraine, but keeping it under influence or neutral and stable would be much more profitable.

I just read yesterday that in Riga there was a demonstration of old SS soldiers who served in first world war. The reason they give why they joined the SS was not because they wanted to be Nazi but becasue they wanted to stop Russia at Latvia border, so I doubt they would be happy if Putin came across.

These countries were already occupied in past according scenarios which are not that different. If normal Russians realy think about any opossition as corrupted by money from west or neonazists, its stance towards todays baltic countries is very clear.

BTW that 97% support for joining Russia is very dubious result. If it would be around 70% nobody would be suprised but this one is trustable as local militia having BPSs. Why that fraud? Especcially when options were practically 1)Join Russia 2)Join Russia later
