I was against the expansion of European Union ;-)
i have no idea if their opinion is shared by the majority of Slovenia :) Hope not.
somebody must open people's eyes in western countries, we join for economical reason and we hope that each part of europe can learn something from each other, but you are persuaded that there is just one truth,one opinion and yours is the best one of course, like we could see in ugly communism, just try to open your eyes a bit more.
No, there are many opinions, which is a good think - pluralism you know -, but everyone is convinced his opinion is the right one, which is normal.
This is the same as you have an interpretation of the UN resolution, Western Europe have another interpretation.

There is nothing that EU/US can attack armies, which are not attacking and killing civilians, maybe sleeping in barracks... really, show me that sentence which is talking that this is allowed. And also, there is nothing that somebody can supply rebels/terrorists by weapons.

problem is, that eastern countries lived in both systems, communism and democracy-for more than 20years. So we are really able to compare and we really know that what our media is saying must not be always true, we are forced to read more resources (but not more but all from one side :-) ) to make our own opinion. But you have your western media (they are good, I am reading them too) but you think that your media are the best and every government can easily make public opinion through it because they know that people trust them.
I really dont think that Kaddafi is good person, but for such a region is dictator needed, look in Iraq, what they have now with that democracy :-(. But what EU and US do in Libya now is just stupid aggression, which can lead to some kind of chemical attack in the future or worse..or even WW3.
If some Arabian country, or African will attack with ugly (maybe chemical) attack EU the future will tell us that the rest of world was abusing that countries and attacking them so that had been real reason of their attack.... but we should learn more from WW1 and WW2 and cold war to not make again such a silly steps :-(

Indeed, it's not in the UN resolution. But why don't you show me where this has happened? Some people might consider it, that doesn't mean it will happen. Our minister of foreign affairs has said there is no way Belgium is gonna supply the Libyan rebels with weapons.

Yes, I do think western media are the best. That doesn't mean they're perfect however. Influence by politicians is very low imo. However, we do have newspapers that are a bit left-minded or right-minded, but you have to take that into account when you read it.

I read an article today (in Dutch, 'De Standaard' is our 'high quality' newspaper) about an English sociologist (Frank Furedi) about worst case scenario thinking. You give an excellent example of that.

to your last paragraph.... so why "we' want pissed them? isnt it risk? and please dont say "we must save them" if we let them to solve their civil war alone, i am sure there would be no war today and also no threat for europe!

There is maybe one mistake from my side.... because I am sure that in western countries are also different media (as that mainstream), but due to my poor english and no german I can not find them so I am comparing just main west media on one side with various media from foreign countries (and most of them are just slovak or czech which are translating).
If I compare main slovak media with main f.ex. main german media.. they are same, really... very same :-). But I am reading mostly "non-mainstream" media in my country also, where are links to another "non-mainstream" media in different countries but I am not able find such a media in west countries, but I am sure, you must have them too...
("non-mainstream" = not that media, which are mainstream...)
so this is not about western and eastern media maybe, but it is about mainstream media and others (maybe there are much non-mainstream media in eastern countries, due to their history and so.. people there like information not from mainstream media more there ...)

Summary of this... I hate power... in common life, man with strong arms and hands and stupid head and so :-) ...people who just beat you / hurt you if they dont have arguments or see that they are losing in discussion :-) .... but this what is EU and US doing is same. Somebody think that he has truth and he have no problem to "prove this" with power... very stupid very emabarrasing, very animal behaving .... but the biggest problem is that this is "playing with fire" which means that this will not have end like "game over, start again"... this can have very very ugly end like WW :-(((
But people like heros and fighting, two WW teach nothing human race :-(
We can not establish stupid democracy to region where it will never work !!! neither with power.
