Well written. I have one issue, maybe little conspiracy but I have somewhat problem to believe that Yanukovich had to retreat to Russia when he still had police and army. If he would just retreat to Eastern Ukraine he would be safe and probably playing his role better. Or maybe hes just wretched man who acted that way because he was threatened by some secret agency. Maybe he just played cards for power, lost and now enjoys stolen money than leading bakrupted country. Bu it was suspicious to me already at that time and his next actions raised my feelings there is something fishy.

The legitimacy of government is low, but it was approved by parliament and it announced elections, so in my eyes its enough in that unwanted situation. Much more disturbing is that Maidan was also about fighting againist oligarchs, economy connected with politics and private mafias. Its already safe to say that this revolution failed in this. Some oligarchs were just exchanged for another and their power is bigger than ever. Without lowering corruption its hardy possible build anything. Of course in face of occupation of some parts of country and threat of civil war or invasions its cannot priority.

The real results of the Crimean elections were leaked by the Russian Council of Human Rights. About 40% participated, and slightly bit more than half of them voted for Russia. That's a bit more than 3/5/7% wrong, isn't it?

Why isn't that a surprise at all :/

Donetsk give ultimatum 48hours to Kiev to get his troops away :-), otherwise they will consider them as occupants and will destroy them

Great, you have posted 1 thing about it, not that strange I have missed that 1 single post because of your countless Ukraine posts. And let me 'guess', it was also pro-russia and/or anti-US and anti-EU nonsense. And it had probably nothing to do with the people dying overthere, right? So who is trolling ...

And btw, talk directly to me or don't talk to me, but don't act if you don't talk to my while you still do it and don't expect others to do it for you. Unfortunatly, correct wording also for this behaviour can't be posted because of the risk getting banned.

I am listening radio reportage about reality in Ukraine, in Donetsk.
It is in slovak lang...

(btw here http://slobodnyvysielac.sk/ , it is free radio, paid by listeners so can not be biased :-), every half of year they had to warn listeners that if a lot of them will not pay 1€ monthly they have to close radio, but it still works and start I pay too :-) )

Mario Nagy is speaking there. He is slovak, he lives here in Slovakia. He was there last week, cos he found there wife few years ago and now he has got there wife'parents so he had to go there and help them.

He told to us (listeners):
- his wife's parents live in center of Mariupol (Donetsk), they wanted go outside of center to cottage several km outside of the town, but town is under siege and ukrainian army is not allowing leaving people by cars, so they tried use train but trains stopped, so they have no chance get out of the city.
(why Ukrainian army is blocking simple people there ??? is there really try to make genocide ?? People consider it as second Leningrad...I hope you know what happened there in WW2)

- army give ultimate to the town, if terrorist dont surrender they will destroy all the town by modern version of katyusha rockets/artillery. The problem is that there are no soldiers (if we mean several hundreds of "russian soldiers", there are maybe few "separatits" from the foreign, and some civilians who wanted defend itself. So there are just few defenders and most of them are simple people, truck drivers, constructions workers and so...simple people with no army training, they never have a gun!!
(so artillery against simple people where maybe several of tens people have guns ???)

- people of that city dont want generally join Russia, they just realize that kiev is cheating them, that Kiev hates their russian origin and that they will suffer all the time when Kiev will be in the power, so they want independence and freedom and peaceful live. If they think about joining russia, it is just because they need help, then need protection cos they have no power against Ukrainian army.
(so they are scary about their lifes so they try help anywhere.... it is normal that ukrainians with russia origin (Donetsk region) ask for help Russia)

He told much more, it is just sad that I am not able translate it all.
That Slovak is young boy, under 35 y.o. and I can promise you that people who like old regtime, russians in slovakia are usually old communists, people above 60 :-) so dont try to tell me that he is biased. He like EU but he know the situations very well so this time he is very surprised by EU attitude.

Hard for us to know for sure. It's also true that sniper killings mostly took place after the agreement. In that context, he may have found little choice but to resign, and little hope that anything signed would be valid after his resignation -including his own impunity.

Rumpil, you should know by now that it's all about democracy & freedom.
U.S. Vicepresident Joe Biden & his son Hunter are personally guaranteeing that.

"Burisma Holdings, Ukraine’s largest private gas producer, has expanded its Board of Directors by bringing on Mr. R Hunter Biden as a new director.

R. Hunter Biden will be in charge of the Holdings’ legal unit and will provide support for the Company among international organizations. On his new appointment, he commented: “Burisma’s track record of innovations and industry leadership in the field of natural gas means that it can be a strong driver of a strong economy in Ukraine. As a new member of the Board, I believe that my assistance in consulting the Company on matters of transparency, corporate governance and responsibility, international expansion and other priorities will contribute to the economy and benefit the people of Ukraine.”

Twenty-five years later, Tiananmen Square no less taboo for China's censors

Twenty-five years ago, Chinese college students in Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an began gathering to publicly mourn the death of a purged high-level official, Hu Yaobang.

A week later, thousands of students marched into Tiananmen Square for Hu's funeral.

The demonstrations escalated, culminating in the tragic military crackdown on the students on June 4, 1989 when Chinese troops opened fire on civilians and students. An official death toll has never been announced, but estimates range from several hundred to thousands.

In the lead-up to the 25th anniversary of the bloody incident this year, there are mixed signals from the Chinese authorities on their attitude towards the normally taboo subject.

After three generations of leadership since the student protests, there are signs of the authorities loosening online censorship of related subjects, although direct mention of "June 4th" is still banned.
