No, as I said, he wasn't even empeached. [...] That's why we're just in front of a coup.

Coup or revolution is like talking about the rebels as terrorists or freedom fighters. The parliament isn't the primary place of action in any cases. The parliament tried to follow the situation though.

But I don't think that the 1.5% that was missing is really relevant. It just makes ammunition for Russian propaganda, but I don't think they would care if the the imeachment reaches the 75%.

jumping from a civil war to another:
islamist conquering Iraq
ISIS, the islamist militians that are fighting in Syria against Assad, is rapidly conquering the north of Iraq (Mosul, Tikrit, an important refinery, ecc), and they are told to be only a few thousands... but still they are fighting and winning against the national pilce and army of Iraq... I think we are missing some important detail
for example: who is beyond ISIS? who is recruiting, financing, arming and supporting them?

and another question: will we see another american invasion of Iraq?

Oh no, not another one with incomplete one-sided stories, manipulations and false insinuations ....

"So what's your problem, with the Ukrainian attacks on rebel occupied cities? If a totalitarian dictatorship is the only possible answer to the revolution of the other political side, then it shouldn't be surprising, that if rebels occupy cities by force, then the army will attack those cities also by force."

Attack itself is not such a big deal but the massive use of excessive force against the civilian population is a problem. Right Sector does not care much about killing civilians. Just recently they started to use white phosphorus on Slaviansk.

What if ... Hussain was still in charge and the Americans did not invade Iraq. Are the Iraqi people now better off than under Hussain?
2014-06-12 19:21:57
We can only speculate, perhaps not. I think the civil war in Syria has contributed more to the current situation in Iraq than the crush of the former regime though.

However, I'm somewhat surprised of the (un)readyness of the official Iraqi forces. Now it shows that US and their allied parties had no post-war plan whatsoever and failed big time to build a "new" state.
2014-06-12 19:45:02
Of course the Syrian Civil War had a major influence. But the fact that the Hussain-regime was no longer there, it was probably easier for ISIS/ISIL to gain territory in Iraq.

And of course the US had no post-war plan. No such thing exists, unless maybe you're prepared to continue a real (military) presence there for decades. They had no plan for Vietnam (which they did not win in the first place), not for Afghanistan, not for Iraq, not for Libya, ... The American foreign policy is a complete joke. Unfortunately, a lot of people have to suffer because of it.
2014-06-12 19:49:37
After being there for a decade, I thought they'd trained at least a decent army. But I guess that was too naive :p

You cannot bring democracy and/or rule of law with bombs and troops. That is what the world needs to realize.
2014-06-12 19:58:13
Yeah.. the world needs to read more Polandball comments :)

America has never won in Iraq. Al-Kaida just left it, so they could strengthen their presence in Afghanistan and Pakistan. In the meantime America could retreat from Iraq without a serious loss of prestige. Now the terrorists are back, because Iraq by itself is incapable to exist. As I first saw on the news, their army didn't even try to resist, they just fled immediately.

who is recruiting, financing, arming and supporting them?

Recruiting is very easy for them I guess. There are plenty of poor, uneducated and desperate people in Iraq. You just need a little hatred-propaganda and it's not that expensive to recruit them.
What if ... Hussain was still in charge and the Americans did not invade Iraq. Are the Iraqi people now better off than under Hussain?

I think there's no such thing exists like Iraqi people. The Kurds do better I think, because they are not open for religious fanatism. Maybe the Shiite are as poor as before, but now they have political rights. They don't deal with it very well, but I think that's still somewhat better. The Sunni were privileged by Hussein, I guess they're the losers of the American invasion.

did you notice that I linked BBC?
if you were sarcastic maybe you have to advise because it's hard to understand...
however i'm just asking some other opinon on this event, if you don't like my questions please ignore me.

@levitate: we both know that it's impossible to teach "democracy" with the bombs, but the training of an army have little to do with democracy. "furtunately" Kirkuk is now in kurdish hands, but how long does it takes before Kurds declare independece from Iraq? (it seems there is requests for independece all around the world)

Why do I only find info about this 'phosphorus bombing' on Facebook, personal blogs, pseudo newssites which btw often ends with .ru????

Besides, this time you think you have used a 'better' news source as your previous link to Facebook, a websites that looks like someone's blog??!! Yeh, WAY better [/sarcasm] ..... LOL

And an article so short it can only be a lie, made for insinuations (like the 'described as a war crime' part!) and propaganda. You really want to keep posting this nonsense propaganda as if it is 'news'? I hope managers on Sokker are smart enough not to believe that crap.
