What is there to argue, your biased crap and some mindless posted comparison? Why do you think others have to discuss that, why do you think I have? It is totally useless to discuss utter nonsense, don't you agree? So why do you think yours is special and different? It is only a waste of my time.

EDIT: btw, why do you even post it? Is there a reason for it, because it is so dumb there must be some reason or purpose!

My Kosovo post was not directed toward you but to jasiom22, why did you react?

And watch your language for vulgarities, please. You should know better by now.

It is totally nonsense what you are writing here Charles, why are you doing this ?
2014-07-11 09:59:23
vulgarities?? Because I call your mindless Kosovo vs east-Ukraine comparison utter nonsense and dumb, hopefully for you because you clearly didn't think your post over (again) before sending it ....? That's no vulgarity. Don't threaten me with your mod buttons because you don't like it when someone calls your post nonsense and dumb (which it is when you make such a comparison)!!

And because you write to jasiom22 I'm not allowed to answer? Do you know how it works on forums? If you don't want to get comments of other people, don't post in these topics, MOD !!!

EDIT: and I ask you again, what is the purpose of your posts? To start a nonsense discussion and problems again in this topic while you are a MOD? Have you forgotten what the job description is for a MOD??? You have to prevent problems, not start them all over again when it is finally quit after months of pro-russian trolling!

Please, post more of your smart words, great saviour. Did you already move to Ukraine to help the people in need??
2014-07-11 12:07:06
I just see one paralel. If Kosovo gained independence, why Eastern Ukraine can't?
By your logic, if Albanians did not like to live in Serbia, they could move to Albania.

well to be honest in "kosovo and metohija" (which is a full name of our southern province), you had a military pact (nato), that decided to attack a un member country (serbia and montenegro), without the approval by the un security council (and that is not legal), to support a the other side (albanians) in conflict.

then there is 2nd situation where one country wants to support their people in other country where they are being bombed day and night by their authorities.

so charles hill is right, this is not comparable. i can't undestand how can nato just do nothing and doesn't help poor russians that are being attacked by their government.
i hope president obama like a true shepherd and his fellow sheep from eu will attack the evil ukraine and help liberate the russians, only then can we say that the 2 are the same.

or am i missing something? probably
oh yeah, stupid me... i forgot that kosovo and metohija is a special case in international law, a precedent that has happened once and never again will in history of mankind and that is why the righteous bill clinton with his mighty armada bombed a country for over 70 days.
yep, i always forget that good old argument for not respecting the international law.

so when international law suits you, then it's ok, when not, then you have special cases.
or as orwell says , all are equal, but some are more equal than the others :D

that's the nature of international laws.
It exist until it is needed by the stronger.

i am not a kid or a young indoctrinated sheep, so trust me, i am well aware of the situation and have full understanding that is a way how most of things in life function (not just the international law).

i do not like it, but i try to live my life according to my rules and build my happy place with friends, family and all the nice things that life brings and try not to get to bothered with all that stuff, especially as i feel my country has throughout history been on the receiving end of mankind operating system.

what i am bothered with is the "it is not enough that you have to eat shit, but you have to praise the chef and ask for one more plate" attitude, that mr hill is trying to sell here.

I completely agree with you.

...both missed the point of the comparison I made...

the issue at hand is: nationalism... "settlements" (in terms of independent national states) ...and history... in the sense "who started" attacking who... and "who was there first" - with these two things in mind.. both situations are clear and similar, unless you are willing to overlook.. the endless jihad waged against the jews... Ottoman empire history and Islam/mohammads war strategy in particular is important... in a way... to almost all current world conflicts... with syria and/or israel as the epicenter of this post-ottoman mess.

Kosovo is a "satelite state" if you will.. of Albania... and a bit of radical anti-establishment serbians. There was no "Kosovan nationalism". There was the Ottoman arabs there, since the advance of arabs on europe, and thegeographical "kosovo" region, just like palestine was a geographical regions name, more than a single semite tribe or nation.. territory.

Map of the Ottoman Empire in 1900, with the names of the Ottoman provinces between 1878 and 1908. -arabs in europe.

as there was no palestinian nationalism in 1947... threre were ottoman arabs in the territory called "palestine mandate" which included Transjordan and Syria, when arabs states (were emerging as states). ("palestine arabs.." are in fact syrians and transjordanian, in their traditions and history - the essence of nations, or "vote" for independence.
Jews on the other hand have been pushed out of their territory for hundered of years... so zionism happend (they have at least the same or even more rights to the territory as arabs), zionism was the only possible reaction to the all around 'jihad' by the arabs(form ottoman empire provinces) on the jews, which russians followed up, and then hitler followed up... hence 1939...

map below just to add perspective to the time span of the link... the 2nd one lower is more relevant this last centuries problems..

Showing the Comparative Density of Jewish Population per 1,000 in Europe, 1900

and now linking it with Ukraine territory... which is a bit more complicated, but in essence ...similar.
There never was no "crimean" or "donieck republic" nationalism!... (never, not even in 2013) there was only russian expantion (and some lines on a map that "Sergeyev" probably Stalin himself drew on a map in the 20's, in his soviet murdering bonanza), ...there were some remaining tatars there also... so, recently... russia spurred up the trouble in that region, in only their own (land and resources) thieving interests... as donieck regions was the economic powerhouse in Ukraine... it won't by that way any more... there was no "nation" to emerge out of there before 2013!...

it is completely different story to the interests of catalans or scots for independence...

Spot on.
2014-07-11 15:44:38
There is no such thing as "Ottoman arabs".

Or perhaps I have to watch Lawrence of Arabia again :P
2014-07-11 16:04:01
So I was spot on. If there was no Kosovian nationalism how is it possible that they have a state? And if they have a state why can't Russians in Ukraine have one?
