you obviously haven't seen single mike tyson fight
2011-07-12 16:13:39
tyson was a 100% defensive fighter. His defence was knock the opponent out within 30 seconds otherwise he could be in trouble ;)
2011-07-12 16:20:02
Everyone has a plan, until they get hit :)
2011-07-12 16:47:56
Until today, no ;)

No way was Tyson defensive & Barrera was only defensive in his later years. Mayweather is the master of defensive boxing, I just want to see what happens if he fights Pac Man.

Tyson was incredibly defensive, not technically, but his tactic was very simple. Get down low, put your hands up high, get in close and counter-punch. It was the shell defence

I'm still amazed every time I see some old footage of Tyson in practice just how fast he was.

In half and hour european heavyweight titlematch. Robert "Nordic Nightmare" Helenius vs Dereck Chisora

Povetkin(currently nr 4 after Klitschkos and Haye i think) just knocked out Boswell. Great stuff so far.

I supported the Finn of course, but do not understand how he won this match!? Chisora was a lot better side today.
2011-12-04 11:25:27
Yes he was. I think it was mistake by judges and they must fight a rematch. Helenius right hand injured in the first round so he couldnt punch normally with right. Its broken like he said. When its healed and Helenius has defended the title against Dimitrenko they will fight again.

have you seen cotto-margarito last night?

revenge was for cotto, margarito again in troubble with his right eye... Hope there will be a third match, they really take it personal
2011-12-04 19:26:38
before cotto-margarito´s there were nice fights too. Luján, an argentinian boxer, took all that can be taken by undeffeated mike jones, but didn´t go down. I like mike jones, he has a great future IMO, but

I think he needs more power punches better than those beautifull technical combinations... Last fight remembers me the soto karras-jones first fight, he couldn´t KO sotto karass even when he had him against the ropes and in serious troubble...

Cotto was pretty crisp with his punching but Margarito kept walking forward the entire time. Cotto was way ahead on the scorecards but I can helped but thinking that he owed the stoppage to Pacquiao.

first fight was the same, cotto moves and technique made him earn most of the rounds, but margarito´s was determined and in the last rounds he could finally trap cotto and get the TKO.

margarito now says that the doctor stopped the fight when he was going to get cotto... I guess there will be a third fight.

I don´t understand what you say about pacquiao... what do you mean?

I haven`t been very big boxing fan, but enjoyed the times when Tyson-Lennox-Holyfield were in action. The next big fight I am looking forward is Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Manny Pacquiao, this one should take place in May as far as I remember. Hopefully Klitshko (either of them) vs Haye will take place too.

oh yes! It seems that mayweather is ready to face pacquiao, after more than two years putting excuses, now he and his father have seen boxing keeps on moving so, if he doesn´t fight pacquiao right now, well, he may keep his undefeated record, but boxing world will forget him soon... he accepted, he is ready, and it´s gonna be a great fight, I hope.

They are the best right now, pound4pound, so, the expectation is amazing. I guess mayweather will play conterpounch, exactly the way marquez did las month, because that is HIS style, he fight that way better than anyone. Pacquiao is gonna fight like he always try to fight, attacking like a fucking robot, going forward all the time.

klitshkos are as undefeatable as boring, IMO. They will win everything until they retire, but TODAY´S BOXING ELITE is on welters, lightweights, etc... Heavyweight championships today are far away from tyson holyfield times... and millons of miles away from clay/frazzier/foreman times.
