he was very brave, but the weight/muscle/power difference is just too big

if he had atleast close to overeems power that uppercut would knock overeem out

yes, the difference between ghita and gokhan is 13 cm and 14 kg but the turk controled the match , ghita was too defensive and waited for the opponent`s mistake

Pity that Saki fought Overeem with only one hand, was doing well but monster kicked the injured side and it was over :(
Aerts was punching bag in final, completely exhausted, just stood there...

ghita did the dirty job for overeem, he was injured since the 2nd round when the romanian kick him with his cannon bone in his elbow
saki said that he wanted to quit after the first match but was convinced to go back and fight overeem

Worked out perfectly for Overeem, with Saki having his side and arm lit up by Ghita and Aerts winning from Schilt. Aerts is a much better match-up for Overeem than Schilt is imo. Overeem has good defense and his powerattacks work well on the sort of sloppy defense Aerts has.

Shame Overeem couldn't fully utilize his knees with the new adjusted rules, those things are dynamite.

Only 1 could win this tournament and it happened :) Overeem is going to be a real champion the comming years. Only 1 can really beat him, Badr Hari, but he lost it in his head, gone crazy.

And that accent of Overeem :P the last thing you expect when he starts talking.

Well - I personally was not very convinced of Overeem. He was constantly doing illegal double-hand clinches, which should have led to punishment (especially against Spong). Saki dominated him with only one hand, and Overeem was lucky that Saki was already badly injured from the last fight (broken hand, damaged ribcage and elbow). Overeem acted clever to attack the already injured parts of his body, which swiftly foreced Saki to stop the fight. The final fight against Aerts was a farce - Aerts was already beaten up and completely exhausted from the last fight against Schilt. Consequently, Overeem basically had no oppenont in the final fight. If they would have met in the first fight, I think Aerts would have won this time. I am thrilled how Overeem will fight in the future, but I think that there are several fighters around in K-1 which are superior to him.

That is the tournament thing. You have to fight 3 fights in order to be the champion. Injuries will be present. Aerts said he was pissing blood after the fight against Schilt.

The Dutch dominance only increases:D

Saki was not dominating Overeem at all. Smaller fighters like Spong and Saki will have a speed advantage against Overeem which they will utilize to score more often, however Overeem's hits will count more. Overeem was never in trouble against Saki.

Aerts winning against Overeem is highly unlikely, even when both fresh. Overeem is just a very poor match-up for Aerts.

I disagree - Overeem managed zero clear hits against Saki in 2 minutes (besides the two kicks to Sakis right side which ended the fight and were not defendable due to the injury). Of course it would be basically impossible that Saki would knock out Overeem, but he would clearly have won the first round. And hopefully he would have been clever enough to keep distance to his opponent in order to win a second round (not like Spong, who did everything right in the first round, only to start close combat with Overeem in round 2, which is stupid and deadly).

Not so sure about that - even though Overeem really is a disadvantageous match-up for Aerts, I would definitely see his chances for victory better than "highly unlikely".
