Subject: WikiLeaks Scandal

@noeok Please read my last paragraph again...

I am not advocating that everything that Governments would like to keep secret should be kept secret, just that unfettered access to all information isn't always desirable or sensible.

You're talking about a specific case, I was commenting generally about the suggestion that nothing should be kept secret. See doru.p's earlier posts.

Besides, when is a purported fact accepted as irrefutably true? who decides? As they say 'where you stand on, this depends on where you sit'.

it can not be such as "good secrets" and "bad secrets".
people use to hide informations that are not according to the legal or the moral way. i told you that i'm stuff of "better you don't know certain things, camarade. we decide what you should know"

I agree with you

Brave guy George Orwell must be cursing from his grave

Glory to Geroge Orwell ( and any smart guy )

Fxck Stalin Fxuck Hitler Fxck Bin laden

I don't see what Stalin or Hitler have to do with this ... seriously dudes. USA is just a little different than Nazi Germany or Sovjet Union ...

Just gloryfing George Orwell and thinking what would he think if he be alive

after knowing he was a volunteer on Spanish civil war, and after that he got the balls of writting:

Animal Farm and 1984

maybe you dont see the relation but i see a relation, in the brave way of being, between G.O. and the founder of wikileaks

I understand arguments from both cases, but I think it isnt that simpel as it sounds. Lets say you steal documents and in those very specific documents are things like ; next target we gonna bomb/kidnap or like next country we are gonna attack(not very credible, more fiction) You think you still cant publish these documents ? (Not whats in the law but I wanna know what you think :))

until now Iran didn't invade other countries...

Yes, they did. They invaded Iraq. Also they are influencing in Lebanon through Hezbollah (who killed one of the last presidents).
They are not better than US, they only have less power, and they treat much worse their minorities and they population (you should see how the Iranian women that emigrate to Canada talk to understand that they are not treated properly)
Writing Animal Farm or 1984 is something completely different from publishing secret documents ...

You're not familiar with irony I guess? And no, not the labour.

Personally i dont doubt Iran is worse than USA if it helps, Iran is just a religious dictature

but documents are from USa gov right now

I would like someone gets the secret info from Iran and to publih it
Writing Animal Farm or 1984 is something completely different from publishing secret documents ...

i am meaning about having a smart brain plus having a free brain plus being brave.

First of all, I'd like to state that that case is not comparable with what happened now with WikiLeaks imo. Your case would be a real help for international safety. I don't think what WikiLeaks published is a help for international safety ... not at all. So publishing the documents in your case improves international safety, publishing the documents of WikiLeaks damages international safety.

Secondly, no, I wouldn't publish these documents. Informing the "National Security Agency" or whatsoever ( you know what I mean ) would be the more preferable option imo.
USA is just a little different than Nazi Germany or Sovjet Union

Hmm, a very extreme comparison, don't you find it? Arguments to such affirmations are welcome as never.

All: is this a new political topic? Let's wait what will it metamorphose into...
Having a smart brain and/or free brain doesn't make them comparable imo.
Same remark: you missed the irony. I meant quite a big difference.
