Don't be naive, everybody knows how the show is made, and there is a disclaimer at the start saying such. It demonstrates survival techniques in an entertaining format.

There is disclaimer now after many objections, there wasn't any earlier and he acted like it was all real.
Most of the shown stuff is very unrealistic and won't help in RL...

it's not anly a show, like others above said, he teach you some basic stuff and the show is not for everybody, is for persons who do "camping" or like to live extreme.sure that what he does there for us who stay home and watch is ussles, but imagine that there is so many people who goes in the wiled alone to feal that they are alive.

If you want to learn about survival, Bear isn't really the best program to watch. Jumping of cliffs, swimming in freezing water, glide down mountains, very smart if getting hurt will kill you ... :S His program is entertainment, not survival. If you want to see survival, watch Ray Mears (link).

Well, Bear's shows aren't realistic, because he gets paid to do all that stuff.

I'm sure that if he was really lost, he'd think twice about doing something like the things he does during the show.

And he doesn't really teach you about survival that well.

I mean, the things he does, climbing rocks etc., few people can pull off.
You have to be extremely fit to do the things he does.

is another show on discovery like this but trust me that is more fake than this, that man said something like this, you must have something sharp to cut this,and he pulled out a big knife and cut a wood, sharp it and cut with that what he wanted... :)), is like yes you need food, he take the fish and from his bag he pulled out all ingredients,a pan and he cook it :))that is how to make a barbeque party in the wild not how to survive.

yes, at least i have seen bear make his own knife from bark and cook using leaves :)

I have my Swiss Army Wok, able to change into 42 differing varieties of pot and based utensils. Beat that :)
