2011-01-07 21:00:27
older people have much more problems and need more help then their Europe dudes

wrong

all health problem ends by death.
in China these "problems" are "solved" sooner so rest of society is free from carying about elders

it's another advantage of country
I thought Chinese people now could have 2 children ...

Well, they won`t die so easily and because of China family model (bad health care), children start taking care of their parents and they will have less time to work and do their own activities. So from my view, their future seems dark.
Yes. We were talking about the future.

when Chinese will have that problem (if at all!) european nations will be after total demographic catastrophy (for sure) :]

I personally have my doubts about the title of this topic. Yes, China has very high economic growth rates - but that is just because everything they do at the moment is very inefficient.

Simple example: You are a farmer which has big landscapes to produce grain. All your life you plowed the fields yourself using an old ploughshare (which is very slow so you can't produce on all the land you possess). One day you decide to buy a tractor and plow your fields using mechanical help. Your productivity will explode by several hundred percent. If you on the other hand already have a farm which is working very efficiently, you will have a hard time to increase your productivity by 10%.

So China (and also India) have great growth rates at the moment because there is plenty of potential to increase efficiency. We in Europe don't, but this is because most things here are already modern and efficient. Also countries like China and India will reach a pinnacle in their efficiency where they will start growing at the same rate than Europe. Until then they will also have increased their wealth which will lead to better education, and hence a decline in growth rates and the same demographic problems we have.

Compared to China and India we have much more stable politics and social equity - and it is a fact that social revolutions do not start when people really are in trouble, but when their situation gets better. Therefore, I am convinced that especially China will face major social turnovers with increasing wealth and education - and we all know how the Chinese government deals with such situations (cruel and sarcastic citation: "After all, Chinese politics is just a place of heavenly peace"). And if this happens, it will throw China far away from being "the new boss of the world"...

people in europe(western europe) ar more concerned in telling stories about "how good we are, how organised, how good results we can get"... than working(in western europe the eastern people are doing the real work). so i understand why loking with bad eyes china's growth.
still, china is getting stronger. we will have to live with that.

last five years spent working in western europe means a lot of experience for me! (and i assure you i'm not doing property jobs!) i know what i say.

Excatly, the question is not what to do with Chinese extreme growth but how the Europe can manage with their own problems and start chasing China.
