Subject: Nuclear power debate: yes or no?

Once again, don't compare Japan to Western Europe. The dangers of tsunami's or earthquakes doesn't exist here.
Thats not hte point, the point is what happens if the systems fail. It wont matrter for what reasons they failed, just that they do. Unforseen things can allways happen, anywhere..
Always nice to see respect for people who think different. That's really what makes us civilized. Seriously. It's not because I think different than you, that I don't think at all.
Pardon? Your point? You really lost me.

I found a solution, we could use the pyramids in egypt to dispose of the nuclear waste, they have been standing there for 6000 years, so they propably last another 4000:)

don't say it loud, someone could take it seriously

Imagine a terrorist plane attack, similar to 11 september, but with destination an atomic plant :/ would be disastrous ..

It CAN happen, yes. But the risk of natural disasters - which I believe is the biggest risk - doesn't exist here, so it makes nuclear power here a lot safer than in Japan. The other risks I am willing to take.

Indeed and in germany we do have 7 plants which would not sustain such an attack.

So what?
Those aren't the only reasons that things can go horribly wrong! Tchernobyl didn't need any of both either.
We shouldn't built skyscrapers anymore. Imagine a terrorist plane attack, it would be a disaster ...

1. Chernobyl: 1986, now: 2011. Technology improves.
2. Chernobyl: Soviet Union.

No comparison possible imo.
Fair enough.

Well the majority of human mankind is not:)

Not much will happen if any other kind of energy plant is heavily damaged, it can be repaired. Different for a nuclear pp.

Another reason why nuclaer power lobby is against wind and mainly pp is its decentralised, they they will loose their grip on us to choke us properly , just as they allready do nowadays.

I was referring to this:

Yep and they can rely on the media to carry the msg for them and the stupid masses to believe it, because they cannot thnk for themselves anymore or dont want to.
Whatever, I'm not against alternative energy, not at all. I just say that for the moment, nuclear power is not a choice.
So what has that got to do with you?

You do have a different opinion, maybe a misslead one on my point of view, but it doesnt make you stupid or me calling you stupid.

But do as you please:)
We shouldn't built skyscrapers anymore

the comparison is impertinent
