Subject: freedom of speech

There is a line between jokes and insulting groups of people.

insulting (even if we get agree that it was an insult) "groups of people" isn't forbidden by our forum statute.

and what is 28 people without any abjective point of view (polish staff is in personal conlict with him since ever, foreign staff is dependent on their opinions) against ~500 users which gave their voice for man who is widely known from his sarcastic humor?

it isn't the case only beetwen staff and punished user, don't You think?

btw, I'm tottaly not suprised about his disrespectfull attitude against staff after what they tried to did to him in the past...

Oh yes I'm definitely talking nonsense. ;)

You may have the tools but that doesn't mean you've any greater ability to use them. Infact from what I've seen, the users who actually have the ability are the ones that quit because they think te system is stupid. I've had numerous former staff tell me that.

Staff are either users. How You would like to ask for opinion of other users? Every user has different opinion. How You would handle it? The same situation is in the staff group, because every staff member has own opinion.

What would you suggest then? You can't expect the admins to read the texts he wrote in Polish? Or to ask from the guy who is banned to defend himself in English. Nevertheless I think you're touching upon a valid point, but there is no real way around it, I can think of.

if we could talk about it as free users there would be no need to rely only on specific staff member opinion

it has got nothing to do with you!

It has got everything to do with the person who is banned and the admins. Thats it - no one else matters in this case.

I couldn't give 2 monkeys hoots if the person being banned was liked by 99% of the users - if they had repeatedly broken the rules then they would be game banned.

Its simple - rules are there to be adhered to whether you like them or not.

so what are these rules for??
i tought they are for protecting forum users from different kinds of verbal agression

if user is widely liked mainly thanks to his unique forum style is there need to protect the comunity from him?? it's an absurd

I will ask again: what rule forbids sarcastic humor (not directed to any specific user as it's wrote in rules)?

When you guys can punish us without any accountability, we choose to make it our business. And in your own words, I couldn't give 2 monkeys hoots whether you like it or not.

I doubt whether it is the best solution, since it puts a lot of strain on the admins to defend against decisions sometimes and answer to all posts (one could also argue that it was a controversial decision then). It could also be that an admin has to defend himself in a language he doesn't speak himself. I don't think there is really a solution that makes everybody happy in this case.

Racist context is forbidden.
2011-03-31 17:14:10
would be if it was used seriously
2011-03-31 17:17:31
ah ok Nin fair enough - quite clearly you argue black is white then white is black.

So just to get this totally and utterly correct in my head

both yourself and other users in here believe that it is perfectly acceptable to "joke"

that the twin towers be rebuilt and destroyed again by muslims , islamic people are ugly and stupid, americans are fat and start all the wars in the world, all Austrians just keep their daughters in basements to rape them continually, all turks are muslims and are therefore weak, ugly and stupid and that it is perfectly acceptable to rape and abuse 3yr old children.

Just making sure that you are all ok with those words.

If you are then quite simply you should be locked up and have the key thrown away.

I think that in such a text, it is quite obvious the guy is being sarcastic and cynical. I would not be offended by that, but I understand some are.
The way I see it is that: If you were in a position of power in real life - what would happen if you said that. To be honest, say that down the pub. I'm sure people will find you an absolute riot.

My opinions, not directed at you Rubinho.

Of for fu......

OK going back to an issue that we weren't actually talking about.

Are you a Daily Mail reader by any chance? I've no patience for reactionary nonsense from people who are out of touch with the world. It was clearly a very poor joke but I've heard far worse on the TV from comedians. If you think he was actually being serious then you need to get out of the house a bit more. I mean for Christs sake, he used the words "Cat bomb"

I really worry about you sometimes.

Just making sure that you are all ok with those words.

firstly it's not nice to distort original text like it's done baove
secondly how stiff You need to be to take such words in one place seriously...

does the concept of "sarcasm about stereotypes" tells You anything?
