The fun lies in the fact you can make almost anything. Hell, you can build a working computer in game if you so desire. Its looks are horrendous, but if you got some creativity, it's heaven.

@ken - ive got 750 now, i think. but theres something with my laptop that doesnt let me play it. First few realeses were ok but now its either lagging bad or not working at all :(
But no need to worry - im setting up a pc and i can take part of your servers here soon :P

As long as you know how to port forward (and if you don't, you have the internet to help ^^), setting up a server is very very easy, using the free software from minecraft.net.

Before my job was made redundant, I was going to start a hosted server so anyone could play 24/7, but that is just a dream now till I find a new job.

My brother used to host one server, but that was for our friends.
Made some nice big cities. We basicly started of from a standard huts but got more creative on the way an i can only imagine what we would be able to build now :D

Not sure if I would call minecraft that much of a rpg, maybe the hardcore mod when you die, you have to start a new map :D on the other hand, it has the rpg potential, some are making a completely different game out of it ... and of course the mods they make it much more interesting and rpgish :)
