Games that I played when I was younger and really liked:
Wonder boy, really frustrating game as it never ended. This game has cost me a couple of joysticks :P
Outrun, was a great game and great sounds.
California Games, was really great to play.
The Manager BMP, I was really addicted to it :D
Operation Wolf, specially when played on an arcade machine with the Uzi :D
SimCity, I really lost track of time playing this game. My mother had to bring my foot or I wouldn't eat the whole day :D
One of the best games, Wolfenstein :D Shooting Nazi's and searching for secret entrances :P
Sonic the Hedgehog, not to forget this 1 :)
And I probably forgot a lot of other games.

As a youngster, I always used to play Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart, along with DK Country and Mortal Kombat (all for the SNES). I played Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, Rayman, GTA San Andreas for the PS2 and a lot, lot more.
GP circuit, wasted a lot of time on that game at my friends' place :p

I spent a couple of years competing in online leagues in this beast of a game from 1998:
It's most prominent feature is the very realistic physics engine with the '67 race cars - they were the very last breed of F1 cars with no real limits. They had way too much horse power and way too little grip and downforce... I have seldomly seen anyone try that simulator for the first time and not make a donut coming out of the pits. Too much power! :-D
Driving in weekly races I had to train for hours and hours as I wasn't exactly one of the top drivers. Damn there were a few aliens among those guys...
