there is basically no discussion... it follows this:

you: we need this!

than we give you reasons why its would be harmful

you: i dont care, we need this!
2011-04-26 13:47:36
No, I say why we need it, also with arguments, not just 'we need it'. That's really only your side of the story. And if the argument 'why not' were good enough, but I think they aren't. And also I take the time to explain why. So maybe not the best discussion but it still is one.

yeah ure argument are just....

"ask any ref if he wants to make less mistakes" :D....

ok then ask any player if he wants to run faster?

probably yes? lets give them steroids

ask them if they want to be more accurate, lets give them hight tech aiming glasses....

ref is a part of the game RTFM

That was only 1 line of all my posts. Fairplay is my main reason.

And we already came to the conclusion we don't agree right? Is something wrong with not agree with each other?

Is something wrong with not agree with each other?

Yes. One of the sides is wrong. ;)
2011-04-26 14:08:54
I'm glade you see that now ;D

so you want to put like in NFL,that will no doubt kill the game
2011-04-26 14:18:23
Well, I talked to my friend who's a ref in 5th division and he was very depressed because of his many mistakes. He also gets beaten at least once a month by the home team fans. He said he would do anything just to make less mistakes. That opened my eyes. We have to help these people before they start killing themselves or get killed by fans. ;)

I don't know exactly when to call for timeouts or hawkeyes. It has to disturb the game as less as possible ofcourse. If I'm correct, in fieldhockey the game also can't be stopped when the ball is in the game, like those sports as NFL. So probably the ref first have to whistle before it's possible to use something like a timeout or hawkeye. And another question you can ask yourself is how many minutes can the game be reversed. For example, a striker scores a goal, ball just went over the goalline, many players have seen it but the refs didn't. The ball bounces back and kicked by a defender across the sideline. Can the timeout/hawkeye be used to count this goal? That are nice questions to ask, but the idea in here is shot before even really thought over :)

But it's really useful for a wrong offside call or a scored goal to use TV images, and any other solution that will work and make the game more fairplay.

That's really sad if that happens. It's also here in the news sometimes it's not always fun anymore to be ref in lower competitions. Beaten up by players and/or parents during or after a match, damaged cars and stuff like that indeed. Problem will be the money to help these refs in lower competitions. Those clubs can't afford expansive solutions like many hightech cameras all around the field and videorooms.
I have respect for refs in those lower competitions, they like the game that much they still go on with their hobby, even if they get beaten up.

What if you have an action like this. Striker receives the ball offside but refs don't see it. He shoots and hits the post. Nobody calls hawkeye. Ball bounces and defender picks it up and tries to kick it forward but misses the ball completely. The same striker takes it again and scores. Then coach calls hawkeye for the preceding offside. What's the call? If offside is ruled, then my question is how do you define such situations? How much time is allowed to pass before you can call hawkeye?

What if striker is not offside, ref whistles offside just before the kick, striker scores and GK doesn't react because of the whistle? Hawkeye! What's the call?

Time is a problem indeed. How long can it be used to reverse the game, like your first example. Set times won't work, it's impossible to say for example 'always max 10 seconds reverse' so that won't work. And saying it has to be 1 action, the moment the attack went wrong, like passing to offside and scoring, without interference also won't work in any situation. So offside is mainly the problem ...
For the offside rule I think the best solution is, hang on, here it comes: delete the offside rule completely :D

Give it a moment to think over. A striker already has a defender next to him, that won't change. A striker to far forward is on an island and won't be reached, so that also won't change. And blindly kicking the ball forward in the hope to reach the striker will never be a good tactic, teams always has to move forward with an idea. And no more delays because of offside, no more doubtful decisions and probably even a faster game.

I know, many will disagree, but if you think about it not that much will change as it is all about tactics and not blind shooting :)

And that last example feels like an indirect freekick as the ref made the wrong call. (feels like to me it is :P) But he whistled so the game was stopped at that moment. You can't score when the match is stopped, then it would become a mess :P

Report a crime

Witnessed a dubious situation during a match which was clearly visible on camera and the referee missed it?
Report it, please!

The situation has to be critical, like:

an unfair (dis)allowed goal
unfair (not) given red cards

EDIT: 3 eredivisie matches this season, 3 FC Utrecht reports!!! see reports FC Utrecht, coincidence???
