well yea, just that the place where that sausagefest visconte was sharing here takes place is known as the "beat up city of estonia" where skinheads and other thugs go to culturally enrich eachother. and that event sure sounds like a magnet to bring together more thugs than any other event so far

Do mods/admins intend to keep political topics closed only in the short-run? Or is it supposed to be a long-term solution?

I mean - there are people who discussed in a civilized way, some of them only read other users' opinions. Now they were punished together with those who didn't respect the rules of "netiquette" and sokker forums.

It's a thing for the long run. Even in civilized discussions, it is difficult to not insult anyone who has a different opinion. Furthermore, to much discussion is open for wrong interpretation leaving a lot of users in the cold because MODs don't punish this.
