Sepp Blatter and two other ex-officials 'paid themselves millions' - Fifa

Fifa has revealed that former officials Sepp Blatter, Jerome Valcke and Markus Kattner awarded themselves raises and World Cup bonuses totalling 80 million US dollars (£55 million) over their last five years in office.

"We look forward to showing Fifa that Mr Blatter's compensation payments were proper, fair and in line with the heads of major professional sports leagues around the world," said US lawyer Richard Cullen in a statement made on behalf of the former head of world football.

Swiss attorney general Michael Lauber opened criminal proceedings against Mr Blatter last September, and against Mr Valcke in March.

i'm worried about their democracy...

Many are, but this is the future in politics with populism. Look at other countries what happens if people vote for populism. Nothing good ever happened with these 'leaders', many examples in South America and Africa, but also Asia and now Europe and not to forget Trump in the US. Democracies are turned into government controlled semi-dictatorships. The first thing people loose are their rights with the lie of 'citizens safety and protection', which is nothing more as a false reason used by governments to take away freedom and privacy and a way to get more and more control over the people and to get more and more power.
