The descussion is actually escalated because the above mentioned bastards think like this:
Russians = Communists = Gulags = Bad people
German = Nazi = concentration camps = very bad people.
I would like to ask YOU, Borkos, if you share the same opinion. That is my quetsion.
It depends what you are really asking.
Are modern Germans Nazis, or are they responsible for what happened? Of course not.
Were majority of ~1939 Germans responsible for what happened? Of course yes.
Did most of them approve of what actually happened? Probably not.
Same goes with Russians. Many were simple lied to, manipulated, or too weak to do anything so it would be wrong to call them 'bad'. After all Gulags were full of innocent Russians, or even Russians that tried to fight the system. But many were also morally corrupted swines.
About being ignorant, tell you what: ignorant were your ancestors that allowed in 1952, my ancestors that allowed din 1944, german ancestors, that allowed in 1933, Russian ancestors that allowed in 1917 to happen what it happened.
I don't know what happened in Romania, but I know what happened in Poland. There was nothing to be done, after Germans killed virtually the whole resistance movement and the Polish army, there was not enough people to fight.
They tried, but they couldn't. The Armia Krajowa [National Army, underground movement fighting the Germans] was from the beginning arrested and sentenced or hunted and killed by the Soviets. They had to leave their families and hide. They actively fought till 1948, when they were finally crushed by Soviets and Polish communists. Even after that there still was partisan activity, the last known 'forest fighter' went down in 1963.
There was will to fight the Soviets, but there was not enough manpower, resources etc. Every resource was depleted after underground fights against Germans, so there was no chance to beat the Soviets.
So please, do not say that Polish people were ignorant back then, because that's an enormous discredit to their memory and their devotion.

I do not discredit those great people, who fought for freedom and democracy, oh no, I do not.
But during the interbelic period, during the war itself and after, the communist party (The Polish United Workers' Party) in Poland was active like a hell. True, they were supported by Soviets (I repeat - by SOVIETS, not by Russians), but any way nobody forced them to support communism just only to defeat Nazist Germany. It was a lamentable excuse for that.
See Baltic countries, the resistance in the early years of postbelic period was also great, but there was another situation: they were annexed to USSR, while Poland remained an independent state.
I have many friends, business partners in Poland that are great people.
