They did not think 'for eternity' they were thinking about present and ruling a peaceful and obedient country.

Doesn't matter, they died. Just like soldiers die at wars, or dogs die after being hit by a car. Death is death, happens to everyone and everything.

It's not my point, it's history. They already had their own religion which was better for the rulers, because it gave less power and rights to the low level citizens.
