I'm almost certain you have the same thing in Italy, its called "holocaust denial" and its a criminal offence in most part of the world, EU included. And more, i've read some hungarian articles, in Hungary there were persons convicted because they were denying the holocaust on some Facebook discussion.

In Italy they approved the law in 2016.But there are no crime in telling the stories about people of every side doing.. what you do doing war!

I think it's another little step versus censorship.
In general... today you censor holocaust denial, tomorrow who knows.
The truth is not owned by none, niether the state can claim to rule what's true.
In fact there are no real right about truth for people.

Im not saying i agree with this, but thats the law.

Here is one link from a hungarian newspaper, its about a woman who got 1 and a half year on probation for writing "holojoke" in a discussion on social media. She also had to visit a holocaust memorial museum and write her impressions to her probation officer and had to write an apology letter for some civil organisations.

So if sara writes on Facebook, that Auschwitz was actually a recruit camp and not a jewish extermination camp, we might miss him for a few years.

in italy you can joke on whatever you want.
The law is only about denying the part of the extemination.

I dont know mate, you know Italy better than me.

Read about last year's match between Lazio and Roma, Lazio made some pictures with the jewish girl Anne Frank in AS Roma's jersey, they were mocking Roma. The Italian Football Association banned Lazio, the players and staff had to publicly apologize in some Rome synagogue, before every home-game they had to read passages from Anne's journal and keep one minute silence, and Claudio Lotito said they will send each year 200 children to visit Auschwitz on Lazio's expense. And also, they had Anne Frank's picture on their jersey in the next game against Bologna.

So i guess you can joke, but its gonna cost you :)

On March 15, 1945, Morel became commander of the infamous Zgoda camp in Świętochłowice.[3] The Zgoda camp was set up by the Soviet political police, or NKVD, after the Soviet Army entered southern Poland. In February 1945 the camp was handed over to the Communist Polish secret service, the notorious Urząd Bezpieczeństwa. Most prisoners in the camp were Silesians and German citizens, while a small number were from "central Poland", and about 38 foreigners.

Sometimes children were sent to the camp along with parents.[7] Prisoners were not accused of any crime, but were sent by decision of Security Authorities. Authorities tried to convince society that prisoners were only ethnic Germans and former Nazi war criminals and collaborators.[7] It is estimated that close to 2,000 inmates died in the camp where torture and abuse of prisoners were chronic and rampant.[5] The camp was closed in November 1945.[5]
Post-1945 career
Morel continued his career in the prison services, reaching the rank of a colonel as the head of prison in Katowice in 1968.[3] In 1964 he defended his master's degree on "The prisoners' labor and its value" at Wrocław University's Law School.[3] Over the course of his career, the communist government awarded him the Cavalry Cross of the Polonia Restituta and the Golden Cross of Merit.[3] In 1990, after the fall of communism, the General Commission for the Investigation of Crimes against the Polish Nation, precursor to the Institute of National Remembrance, started investigating the abuses carried out at the Zgoda camp.[3] In 1992, Morel immigrated to Israel,[3] where he still received pension from Poland.

lazio and roma fan weren't joking. that was a antisemitic use of anna frank image.
the football fans of some team are strongly infiltrated by fascists and nazist (in almost all europe).

Anyway the lazio's president going to sinagogue (voluntarily..) said something like "let's go doing this recital".
And he was right.
He shoulnd't be blamed for someone else's act.
2018-01-31 23:17:36
Of course he should not. Some idiot fans did it. But its a serious thing as you can see.

Check this wiki page, at the bottom you can see the convictions in Europe for holocaust denial.

interesting wiki page.
I quote this:
These laws have also been criticized on the grounds that education is more effective than legislation at combating Holocaust denial and that the laws will make martyrs out of those imprisoned for their violation

I've missed that, great phrase.

In my country some old people say, if people in poland are nationalists, then they are fanatic.
I always thought, this was nonsense, because I don´t know anyone from poland, who is a fanatic nationalist. I am not sure anymore now.

I think there is difference between those who moved away and has seen different people living together, and those who stayed behind and are living in this changing Poland that is becoming more and more xenophobic and nationalistic, like a number of other countries.

In countries with populist governments using these subjects you can see countries go down. Freedoms like free media, independent law, equality etc are attacked by these people in power, and with propaganda and lying they take the country further down with them.

Populism, xenophobia, racism and nationalism are great feeding grounds for neo-nazi's and (extreme) far-right groups. A good percentage of frustrated and insecure white man are apparently easy targets to mess with.

Something is really wrong with Charles. I read his posts and wonder if this guy is a huge troll or out of mind. People try to discuss with him telling facts and truth but seems like he lives in his own world. Pathethic.
