Eu is the excuse our politicians use when they are ordered to do something!

Yeh :) But I really wonder what will happen if the US asks the Netherlands to arrest a person violating there laws and send them to the US ....

it's not yet finished, although it will be hard to prevent it: ''However, the signatures of the EU member states and the EU itself will count for nothing unless the European Parliament gives its approval to ACTA in June, and digital activists have urged citizens to lobby their MEPs against voting yes.''

spread the word:)

Hello .... world to rumpil, are you there? ;P

Main problems with ACTA (inspired by this Danish article):

- Outside democratical control (was conceived secretly to avoid WTO and other established organisations)
- Turns private companies into the internet police. Demanding that a site is hosting copyrighted material will not have to be run by a court. The copyright holders will be able to make these demands directly to the service provider. This is obviously a huge advantage for large copyright holders that will have an army of lawyers ready. Service providers will have little or no incentive to "defend" their users as they will be risking punishment.
- It will be more risky and potentially costly for small organisations to use the web for developing new ideas as the law text of ACTA is rather unclear on what will constitute illegal behavior...

gives to the copyright holders the right to decide the amount of money lost for the piracy activities..
