This thread certainly seemed to have picked up momentum after the blackout. It's been over a month since the topic was started ;-)

Here is a nice piece on how those defending SOPA are misleading congress in the US:

Now ACTA must be eradicated!
If ACTA doesn't interfere with freedom of speech, there is nothing wrong with that. Intellectual property must be protected.
ACTA is more dangerous than SOPA. it was made in secret and it's threatens freedom of internet and goes even further

SOPA's dead!

Not really I think, it's just postponed. Now the right people that can stop these bills have to be really careful the next time it won't be introduced without really noticing it ...

He won't stop, as long as he say things like this: We need to revisit the approach on how best to address the problem of foreign thieves that steal and sell American inventions and products.

And when I read this: The theft of America’s intellectual property costs the U.S. economy more than $100 billion annually and results in the loss of thousands of American jobs., I notice he forget to mention all those millions of people that can't afford or don't want to pay the maximum price set by the multinationals, but are still affected by the marketing of products in movies for example. But mentioning things like that doesn't fit within his misuse of copyrights propaganda text.

All negotiations about ACTA are secret, no one who is involved with these negotiations is allowed to say a thing about it, why?

But in the Dutch government a majority is against this law and because all EU states needs to agree (if I understand correctly), this law will never be signed.
