Subject: Who is the Best?

2011-12-26 13:49:40
no Xavi&Iniesta = no great Messi

i'm still with the "fenómeno", but that sentence are RIDICULOUS, why...

because from he's debut, he played with they, so... we don't have many chance to comparison, with the exception of Argentina... yes but... Argentina not a club, so... not a regular work, and though the Argentine one is a country of football, with big players in the world, in the last years it has not managed to translate this potential in achievements. The selection, also has had rotation great in the last years, and not only of players.

so... compares his skills in the individuality, because neither Xavi nor Iniesta, give him the dribling, the ball stuck to the foot, the positioning, and the vision of game when he has the domain, his definition of gol and of assistances, etc.

i'm agree, in my country we have a concept "chaquetero", is an adjective that means underestimate the other by the simple fact of not adhering to his cause, in this case probably by fanaticism to another club or player, who ends up blind.

i agree with No Xavi and Iniesta = no goals for Messi

Messi sucks at the NT

look is that a free kick from a "star" like messi

Dont say i love Ronaldo too much cause he some times is selfish and doesnt pass and loses the ball ...

but in general Ronaldo > Messi

but El Fenomeno is a God !

here i would place Arijen Robben and he is better then Ronaldo and Messi :)

One swallow does not make a summer.
Eine Schwalbe macht noch keinen Sommer.
Una rondine non fa primavera.
En fluga gör ingen sommar.
Uma andorinha não faz verão.
Une hirondelle ne fait pas printemps.
Jedna jaskółka wiosny nie czyni.

But you are right.. without Xavi... nothing to do :P

xavi... what assistance! 1/2 gol :D

All I'm saying - take Xavi out of Barca = the team will suffer more than if you take Messi out.

Does Cuenca play much worse than Messi? I don't think so.

All strikers in Spain and Barce get amazing chances thanks to Iniesta and especially Xavi - that's the true genious behind all success of Barca and Spain.

Best in the world = XAVI. Since 2007/2008.

sorry, i read:

no Xavi&Iniesta = no great Messi

well, now we are talking about Xavi?... like i said, from his debut, messi played with him, but if you, like a subjetive observer, determine Messi's talent to the work of Xavi, there is nothing more to discuss

Yusep are you familiar?

well then tell me why Messi plays A LOT worse with Argentina, when Xavi is not around?

Pedro, Villa play equally as well with NT...guess why? :)

Pedro, Villa play equally as well with NT...guess why? :)

because half of barca play in spanish NT so basically they practice teamplay every day, while Messi can practice his teamplay with co-argentinians very rarely and also has to travel over the ocean for that?

in South America, we are fortunate to follow very closely to these selections, especially Argentina, which doesn't meet the expectations of its people for many years, despite the great players he has, therefore be held responsible or focus only on Messi is a reductionism. Just look at the overall results, the squad, rotations, etc.., There are many players that do not shine in their selection, and the questioning should be for the team, which has consolidated a process. For this reason, as this is the only option of comparison, let's be a little more fair and exhaustive...

because ronadlo doesnt waste a hell of a lot of freekicks?

to be honest they both have their strenghts.

ronaldo better shooter.
messi better dribbler, balance
ronaldo maybe faster, better hearderer.
messi better passer
ronaldo. does not work off ball to win back. messi does

pick who fits into your team better

Ibrahimovic !

Summarising:

a. Messi is great in Barca because he is great 'and look how he dribbles - he doesn't need Xavi'

b. Messi is not great in Argentina because he has to play alone...

:')

I know that Argentina sucks a lot, Maradona was amazingly stupid as coach. But still, Messi did not show almost anything with NT. I don't want to write a lot about it, but just think about it - Barcelona has amazing offensive players on all positions. 3 strikers, 2 side defenders, 2 central midfielders. Thanks to that and amazing abilities of Iniesta and Xavi to create situations and drag opponents out of position Messi gets more space and more chances to get through the defence.

There is no real 'general' in Argentina so there is less fluidity in playmaking, so it's harder for Messi. That's the point - Messi looks so great thanks to Xavi and Iniesta. Even Pedro looks great when playing with them...and as I've said - newbie Cuenca doesn't look much different from Messi when playing for Barca.

I don´t see any damn Xavi or iniesta when Messi is doing a 50m+ dribble through 5 opponents.

No need to do that for Xavi/Iniesta if they are able to do a 50m pass through 5 opponents :)

They are just different players, it's difficult to compare them. Of course the playmakers will always be a bit in the shadow of the goal scorers like Messi, but I'd see Xavi on the same level. Just look at some pass compilations, he performs sick passes I'd not even SEE to play even from TV overview perspective and he pulls them out every match. Plus he hardly loses any balls or does mistakes.
2011-12-26 21:04:37
I would not be so radical, it seems more complex, with particular circumstances of each match and seasons. So I think it's more fair just to observe the trajectories and individual skills. Therefore, what seems indisputable is backed Messi's talent in its consistency, and extraordinary level in their skills developed. No person is so complete, to have to highlight what has not, if what he does, pays enough to perform in the best club of the moment. The team, Iniesta, Xavi contribute enough in the same way, but not any striker in front of them achieved the same, for many seasons and in different championships...

in that sense, Cuenca?... he does need to thank the team and we'll see later if he can be the same.

now xavi v/s messi, wtf.. is so difficult to follow a line of discussion :P

Xavi is another monster clearly is not necessary that comparison. why it has to be a better, when we speak of different functions ...
2011-12-26 21:14:35
you missed some lines earlier:P I am not sayin here anything bad about Xavi:P. it was just an answer for a statement that Messi can´t do a single thing without Xavi and Iniesta.

Xavi is very, very good, can´t dissagree with that.
