ATM, you can go with both studying and sport, as it was said already.
Just look at yourself when you turn 18and notice if you have some chances to make a career in football, maybe you'll have a bit of luck and a scout notices you and you can get a decent contract for beginning :)
but, imo, if a sportman doesn't seem to have too many chances when he's 18-19 and his sport future is just unclear, then it's a bit useless to continue.
I also played tennis for performance, like 8-9 years, I managed to reach top 15 in Romania while 16yo, but I just had to be better than I was, to manage to reach at least top 200 atp, in order to earn a living from this... so I quitted to practice it for performance and now I'm a coach and I'm also at faculty.
So, to sum up, you still have time, just see how good you are in football at 17-19yo and what chances you have to go further.

Sócrates, the brazilian footballer who died recently was also a doctor.
Sheriff, thank you for sharing your dilemma here. My advice is that you don't choose yet and that you invest your time and energy in both directions and keep your options open. You are 15 now and you can stil do that until you are 18. Then you will probably need to choose your main focus but you will also know better (especially if you keep going to church on Sunday ;)).
I would also suggest that regardless of what you choose, you stil keep your interest in the other thing as you might decide to come back to it. It is even possible to do both but with lesser intensities. I mean, you don't need to be the best doctor or the best footballer in the world. It is more important that you enjoy what you do. You might eventually find playing for your local 3rd division club and practicing family medicine in your neighbourhood as an ideal mix for you. ;)

I'm in a very similar situation myself, Sheriff.
I'm 31 years old now, and it has often been said that I could open a tin of beans with my left foot. I tried out for 100m in the inter-school sports once, but got the farts after 40m and couldn't finish the race. Despite this, I am 5 yards quicker in my head.
I have a tertiary education, my cycling profieciency, and numerous mathematical challenge certificates; but can't decide what to be when I grow up?
How about a postie? They don't work on Sundays?

do you want to be a footballer? :)) in what life? if at your age you arnt in one of the premier league youth school, becaming a footballer is just a dream.
with the speed he has, considering he is only 15. everything can happen.
can´t become Messi, but still. If you got brains and talent, it´s never too late at the age of 15.

in a youth school half of them have the same speed, so that isnt so important, important is to get the education, to learn how to move in the field, to gain tactical knowledge and so on...
to learn how to move in the field and gain tactical knowledge isn´t so important. If you are wise, you will learn it quickly. what you can´t learn is physical abilities, if you aren´t strong and fast, you will never catch up with others who are already far ahead.
And here are a few examples of excellent players that started playing serious football late:

Sheriff.....
I'm a sport (football) reporter, I'm 40 years old and I spent a bit less than 20 years watching soccer teams, of every age.
Believe me, if your potential should helps you to become a soccer player at the age of 12 years you must be inside a great team and you (not your coach) must understand that you can do it.
I saw hundreds of young player that, at the age of 14 years, shoulds have been a football talent.
No one did it.
Lots of them leaved study for football and now they have to work to search a work.
I have never see you playing, probabily you're a well talented player, but remeber that football career depends from many things, your resistance, your body, your coach, your team etc...... I'ts not so easy. When parents tells me:
"My son is a champion, I think that he could be a professional player"
I answer
"Let him concentrate about study, if he is a real talent he will do career with leaving the books"
In the last 2 years I had interview with some of the great italians (and not only italians) players of the passed years; Vialli, Cabrini, Limpar, Zmuda, Lombardo, Rampulla, Chiesa, Prandelli, Dezotti, Bettega, Zoff........and everyone tells me that if you're real talented you can do it, but it's necessary to keep in touch with school, before trying with football.
Good luck.
