eset here also. seems quite a lot use it.
before i have used mcafee, norton, avast, avg, kaspersky

kaspersky were too hard to get keys for, mcafee and norton are system hogs, cause lags etc.

avast, avg both i got a virus which annoyed me when using them but theyre not proper real time scanners, and also cause lag nowadays so i didnt use them long,

eset is the best iv come across, not just for viruses etc, it blocks webpages that are dodgy for sticking stuff on ur pc (you can manually enable them etc) also iv got spyware doctor and other anti spyware stuff, and they never have anything beyond tracking cookies on my laptop (nothing serious) which all other anti viruses ignore. (using kaspersky i used to have 300+ things every spyware sweep, mainly bad stuff)

eset ofc isnt "free" but not hard install when u know what ur doing. now iv got a job ill probably buy a year of it

Avast Antivirus 7 is really good, always blocking untrusted sites and also a good startup scan for deep scanning that you can set manually from time to time which finds even more as the normal scan. I have to run some other program soon to see if Avast is really getting all the virusses as I don't know that for sure ofcourse.

And is Spyware Doctor a good one nowadays? Used it some years ago and was really not that happy with the program as it absolutely didn't find everything when I run some other anti-spyware program to check it.

Linux users are probably laughing about that kind of topic :)

Want me to send a virus for you linux (or mac, those guys also think they are immune)?

I am not using linux, don`t like that command line porn despite of being programmer.

It is just not as big problem when using linux, because of linux small number of users who usually are not the dumbest. So linux platfrom is not a good target for malware attacks...

I haven't ever had a problem with any kind of virus using Linux. Command line porn is quite safe actually XDDDD

In Win7 I use Avast! Free. It's nice and runs using little resources.

thats indeed the point. Way too few hipsters using it to be worth it to make decent widespread viruses.

and besides that its hard to install stuff as u need root acess for that, along with username, so stuff cant be installed remotely like off websites randomly, ofc i disabled that sudo crap on ubuntu, not really bothered, i use linux more for pentesting than it wud be used on me, so no biggie ^^

each new version of antiviruses though differ. i used to love Norton back in the day, then around 2008 or so i tried the new version and it was a huge system hog, slowed stuff etc...
mcafee im convinced is actually a trojan. even all other antiviruses after removing it report they cant work alongside it :D
avast i preferred to avg as it caused less issues with lag, scan times etc... though hafnt tried new versions of either

I used Norton till 3 years ago when I swapped to Bullguard mainly because Norton killed PC speed as you say :)
