I see no problem in nationalism, seems you guys have no idea what means nationalism and what is chauvinism.

IMHO
I think everybody loves his country, at least a bit more than the others..
But when someone need to define himself as nationalist he put himself in conflict ideology.
I think that it's really hard to be (what you call) nationalist without getting chauvinist.

Is it sooooooo bad that I love more my country than yours?

Another point is the wod you used: love.
I think again that you are right in words, but not in facts!
your nationalistic "love for your country" take you more to hate other countries than to love more it!
Unless it, you will have no motivation to define yourself as a nationalist.

I know personally a lot of italian nationalist people (more or less extremists, more or less fascist), they talk about love and pride.. but their actions are always guided by hate for someone/something.
They act against thing! (homosexuals, immigrants, UE, atheist, not christians, communists, anarchist and a lot more..)
I have some news for you. It is already decided where the WC of 2018 and 2022 will be played.

Well, sorry about this. I don't know how I completely forgot about it. But that doesn't influence the whole point of what I wrote. It only changes or even upgrades the English conflict of interest to resentment. We all know how they tried to discredit Qatar's win as well. Also, every now and then we have some very "worried" country offering to take place of Poland and Ukraine and host Euro for them. And these were again countries with much worse extent of simmilar problems. Why did Spain think that the should skip in? Because they deal with terrorism better? Well, you better deal with it better because you also have much graver consequences when it happens in your backyard.

You have not made any point in your reaction, so I'm not reacting on that.

And it's nice to see how the only consistent logic you apply is to keep cherrypicking for evidence and mistakes and avoid tackling the whole point of view. You don't debate. You just poke.

I wrote that I went past the parade, seen it for a couple of minutes and that I didn't hear any insults no that there weren't any insults.

But Schepel said that you only say that when you want to suggest that there were no problems. There is no point in saying that if you don't want to suggest that ;-)

I think everybody loves his country, at least a bit more than the others..

No. I absolutely hate my country. No love at all.

The problem with such nationalism is that when you point at something bad that happens in his country or at something the state doesn't do very well, nationalists will consider that a personal insult, while it really isn't. That's why there is no point in discussing a problem of country X with a nationalist of country X.
And it's nice to see how the only consistent logic you apply is to keep cherrypicking for evidence and mistakes and avoid tackling the whole point of view. You don't debate. You just poke.

That's because debating with you has no point. You actually don't say anything. So the poking is just for fun.
And that's exactly the same intention that authors of this "documentary" had. "Let's poke those Eastern Europeans a bit. They deserve it. Why did they ever get that Euro in the first place?" It's no wonder that you liked it so much.
2012-06-04 11:55:46
I was trying to describe the general atmosphere, that's all.
No, poking you is for fun, because you are not reasonable and I am therefore not interested in a discussion with you.

And you can blame BBC what you want, it doesn't help anything about the situation in Poland and Ukraine. Don't shoot the pianist.
2012-06-04 12:29:08
You have a really serious problem.

Please, do tell. (Don't you think it's a little childish to act like this?)
2012-06-04 12:31:25
You always search for a 2nd layer, even when there is none.
2012-06-04 14:40:46
Actually, I always look for the third, fourth and fifth layer. Only to wonder whether I didn't miss a layer. (You know, that's what good historians do.) But that doesn't matter here. It's really about the meaning attached to some things. A meaning you did try to convey. Just look at your other posts and the context of the topic. Please, don't try to play me for a fool. I may be stupid, but I'm not a fool. Is it so hard to accept you've gotten yourself in a slightly untenable position? I know you know that I know you know. ;-)
2012-06-04 14:52:29
Actually I was honest. I just tried to show that we're not some kind of racist, homophobic country ;-).

There were some counter-manifestations but all were properly blocked by the police and there were no incidents...
2012-06-04 14:53:35
but guys... what it has to do with euro?
Do you guys see what are you even writing ?

First it was how they are racists, then it was there is little of them, then it was only BBC who wanted to make situation better, and now you talk crap and have no idea what was your or BBC's point. Point was to abuse the EC tournament. And England should shut up about this, coz they were the first big problem against racism in 60' 70' and now all we need is some USA to come here and start talking about it.

Thats the problem with a bit more advanced countries, that they think they are now GODS over all others, and a few decades in history they did terrible crimes, and after few decades, they are "peacekeepers" but they are still doing the same thing, but on "nice" way. So stop the crap, and admins pls lock this topic!

that's how arguing here looks like - no-one will agree with each other; only accusations and everyone trying to say "a-a i know better".

you all seeing only problems with poland (or ukraine) - yelling on the internet won't change anything.
ok, racists are in poland, just like everywhere else, in your country too. nothing new.
and if the point is you don't like polish FA attitude - that's not my fault.
maybe just e-mail them, lol :P
