another big mistake of ref...should've been a penalty for Ireland

Yup, that should have been a penalty even though it was on the ball. I suspect that referee didn't want to award such not 100% clear penalty because it happened while the Irish refused to throw the ball out while Mandžukić was lying down after an unruled foul.

And overall, Croatia has much more to complain about the referee. Foul criteria was very uneven. Referees didn't protect our players from very tough tackles and he awarded to Ireland quite a few that were not so clear. Our goalie got a knock-out elbow to his head (red card), Perišić suffered a knee to his kidney, Mandžukić and Jelavić were held and beaten constantly. On the other hand we had come clear on the ball tackles ruled as fouls when our dangerous attacks were about to happen and some quite mild hand contacts also ruled as fouls including the one from which we conceded the goal.
The refs are just terrible. They're not in favor of one team, they're just not refereeing very well. And it was a 100% clear penalty, regardless of what happened with Mandzukic.
I agree that the refs are generally terrible so far and this match was one of the worse examples. I agree that this was clearly a penalty but it was definately not a 100% one. I would give it say 70%. How can you say that this was 100% clear when it was on the edge of the box in no goal chance, it was both on the player and the ball and the ball remained in def's control after it? Unless you perceive that penalties can be either 0% or 100%.

Even Robbie Keane said that he thinks that the ref didn't call it because the whole stadium was whistling Irish unfair play of not throwing the ball out while Mandžukić was hurt. And I am generally quite disapointed by the Irish fair play in this game. They usually don't play like that. They were falling at every contact and at the same time were extremely rough in their tackles elbowing and kneeing our players. And not throwing the ball out while a player that they beat all the time is hurt is especially unexplicable to me. The refs should have protected our players and pure gameplay much more. I don't understand what's the purpose of those 4th and 5th ref in penalty box. One of them clearly saw how strongly and recklessly our goalie was elbowed and not even a yellow was given.
when it was on the edge of the box

It was within the box.

in no goal chance

Not relevant.

it was both on the player and the ball

It was first on the player.

100% clear penalty.
You should have answered just like this:

Unless you perceive that penalties can be either 0% or 100%.

Yes, I do.
You should start reading.

Of course there are penalties between 0% and 100%. This one wasn't though.

Irrelevant, the ref has to stop the game, when a player is hurt. It's not the player's task to do it.
But he obviously didn't want to give the 100% penalty, nor did he see that the second croatian goal was irregular.

I found the irish player were agressive, but their defensive behaviour wasn't that hard, that I would call it unfair. In UK/Ireland, such a defensive behaviour is rather normal! ;)

Well, we can't change anything right now. Croatia looks weaker than I thought. I don't think they can steal points to Spain or Italy in their actual form.

I repeat once again that this foul was for a penalty. But refs are people too and when you have a crowd of 40.000 whistling for a pause and you are deciding whether to give it or not, then such situations suddenly become much more demanding for calling. That's all. Nothing more. It was stil a mistake.

It was regular. The ball was passed to Jelavić by the Irish player. And it wasn't a deflection but he missed the ball while trying to clear it.

Elbowing keeper's head and kneeing player's kidneys is normal? And I am all for tough football. But in tough football players don't fall when someone gently puts a hand on their shoulder. That is what Italians do. :P

We'll see about that. Spain and Italy are stil definately favourites in those matches but I think we have a fair chance. Our defence is a bit lame but if we manage to keep our game attacking more than defending, we will be able to score more goals than we receive. And I think that Ireland will also not end with zero points so this group will be very open until the end.

Nope, the goal wasn't regular. The player who gave the pass got fouled, even though it wasn't that obvious. He was kicked by the other croatian striker (in the foot from behind), so the goal wasn't regular, no matter how you take (foul (player was fouled) or offside (player didn't control the ball, same game sequence, striker was offside during that sequence)).

Still doesn't change anything, but I think it's still important.

As for the penalty, there were 3 referees who saw that (main, line and goal referee). The main referees was 5-10 meters away. The scene was obvious. No excuse for any of the referees. The main referee didn't even give a foul!

In UK of course! ;)
I like the fact, that they don't simulate. The game was a bit rough, but that's ok. I prefer that to theatratical games, with a lot of simulation, that are ruining completly world football...

You're either blind or a liar. Look at this video at 0:19 and recheck your sight or your truthfulness whichever of those needs to be checked again.

Jesus, this must be the 5th time I write this. That was a bloody penalty! Anyone watching that replay will confirm that except maybe the blind and the liars. But you also can't ignore the fact that the whole stadium at that point in time was whistling for the game to stop and that the foul actually didn't prevent a goal threat. That foul was just simply stupid and unnecessary. Those 2 combined motivated the ref to not call the penalty and make this mistake. Also, the result was already 1:3 at that time the same as it was when the refs missed to give a red card due to the elbow to our goalie's head. We won so the Irish complain and if they equalised, then that red card would be the crucial mistake. When refs are just simply horrible, then whoever loses usually points to the mistakes against his side as the reason for losing them. But I think it's quite clear who deserved to win in that game.

In UK of course! ;)

And again, I don't mind playing a bit rough if it's not mixed with simmulating fouls. If you make rough tackles, then you might as well take them too. And the Irish were simmulating fouls because they are dangerous only from set pieces.
