You learn Spanish and no German in Czech Republic?

We learn Dutch (of course), French, English and German (not a lot).

Dutch!

I find it impossible to judge the sound of my own language :-)

PS: we learn German? ... Oh right, I avoided that, haha

Yes it is. I had 1 year of German, 1 hour a week, in 4th year. Completely useless because we only read texts (that we could understand because it looked like Dutch), instead of learning the actual grammar.

German is avoidable in 5th and 6th year if you study math ;)

Conclusion: I don't know any German at all. It sucks though, I would love to learn it.

english is in the first place, then you can pick german, french, russian and spanish .. ofc it varies but these are most common here
Strange to take Spanish as third language.

there are only harder and easier languages to know

no doubt english is by far the easiest one. no cases, no genders, no hard plurals.. well no nothing actually :)

german is slightly harder due to 4 cases and some differences in changing verbs trough persons (ich, du...)

slavic languages are very hard for foreigners i guess. i speak serbian and am learning russian. i have no idea how would a non slav ever learn something like this :))))

i have some experiences with magyar, it's also semihard language and french, which is in the easier gropu (beside the fact you have to breake your tongue) xD

why strange? :D

I like this language so I chose it ;-) and anybody in our class study German ;-)
