Subject: Olympic Games 2012 - London
Yesterday:
...Four pairs of women's doubles badminton players, including the Chinese top seeds, have been ejected from the Olympic tournament for trying to throw matches in an effort to secure a more favourable quarter-final draw...
So what do you guys think? Right or wrong decision?

They were warned multiple times in their matches, so yes.
For me, it is a very very good decision to keep the spirit of a sport who would normally be only a game, a fun... The best last example of beauty of the sport i remember is the irish supporters who sang continuously till the end of the game whereas their favourite team was loosing against Spain with a strong score against them....

how can be judged a thing like this? so - it's not a right or wrong decision, but it's an aberrant one

agree, how do you know the throw the match?
anyway, how does it help to loose a game? What kind of a weird draw is that?

Just because they gave their excuse publically... The suspicion was justified.

I don't know if it is feasible to change the system in such a way that this is not possible anymore, but I think it is a flaw of the system as well if it is rewarding for so many competitors to lose intentionally.
Do you remember those Deutschland- Osterreich in a old world cup?
A draw and 30 minutes of a boring play at the end of those no-match.
It were outing Algeria ( Algeria won against Deutschland in the first match of the group)

same thing in euro 2004 I think where Sweden and Denmark threw Italy out...
just unbelievable to watched that yesterday and hear the news about the disqualified thing later. it's just a plain stupid acts by the players no matter that the cause of this is because in this 2012 London Olympics both IOC and BWF are agree to use a new system, a round-robin, to replace the playoffs system that they always use from the first round matches in all badminton championships and Olympics games. and this scandal cost us our chance for the medal, after both of our key players in men's single got knocked-out and our hope in mixed-double were lost too in semifinal.
it's difficult and maybe over now for Indonesia to retain the gold medal achievement as we always did since Barcelona '92 :(
