Speed skating is a bit like cycling, you need to see the charm of it and then you will/can start to appreciate this sport ;)

But ofcourse, to see your country win makes watching it more fun ;D

Unfortunatly no Ladies' Parallel Giant Slalom medal today for Olympic Champion 2010, Nicolien Sauerbreij.

But today also the last individual speed skating event, Ladies' 5000m. Hopefully another gold medal for Ireen Wüst or some other Dutch girl!

Cycling can be interesting, but speed skating is as if every stage of a tour would be held in a time trial. Everyone's just skating one dumb round after the other, and if it wasn't for speed and occasional time measures you would have no idea what's going on. They could at least introduce some k.o./head-to-head system as in the snowboard giant slalom for example.
