Our government (Belgium) invests only in Soccer and see where we standing (we maybe have a golden generation now, but we still have to wait and see !)

Spending money in someone with your flag winning at an olympic (or any) sport is the closest it gets to the government setting tax-payers' money in fire and watch it burn :P

We have 25 athlethes this time (used to have more ppl) and they compete in 6 different sports.

we have 66 and our population si barely 2 milion people

Number of inhabitants per medal at present:

1 Norway (11 medals, 0.46 mil inhabitants)
2 Slovenia (3 medals, 0.68 mil)
3 Netherlands (8 medals, 2.1 mil)
