The topic is devoted to this organization. Write whatever you want but remember that your posts must concern EU. I'm waiting for your opinions.

EU is opponent to USA (economicaly) and this good thing about it.
2006-07-16 16:20:47
Norway is not a member of the EU, but they have good connections through the EEA ( European Economic Area ), together with Iceland and Liechtenstein.
2006-07-16 16:24:49
yeah, I know that. You're nice country. I'm going to go on my holiday to Norway next year :)
2006-07-16 16:30:30
There are a lot of Polish workers, who picking up strawberries on the huge fields around here, are you going to do that?
2006-07-16 16:46:02
and you see MacBorden... you regard Polish as pickers of strawberries or plumbers. next type of stereotype...

I admire Norway. It is not a member of EU but it's rich and highly developed country. Just would like to ask: "How did you do that?" ;pp

They are doing a good job.

As you said, you are going to Norway next year. Dont fear Norway :P We have lovely wheather and we are proud to have beautiful nature. I think you should look forward going to Norway, even we are not in the EU. :)

There are a lot of East Europeans + Portugese over here doing manual labour type jobs in England.

Yesterday a Polish man knocked on the door trying to sell some sort of pictures.
2006-07-16 17:01:53
he he :) no, I'm not gonna pick up the strawberries.
I'm gonna spend my holidays over there because I'm interested of viking history and beautiful countryside. I'm not 100% sure of that because my wife would rather prefer south of Europe or Africa and I will definitely have to negotiate that :))
2006-07-16 17:02:24
Same here. But he couldn`t speak, so he had a letter, that he were selling some pictures.

How many countries are in the EU now? 25? In the EU-flag, there are 12 stars, I think. Is it because there were 12 countries who established the EU at the same time?
2006-07-16 17:04:08
they are usualy Brasilian not portuguese in UK, I think.

Yeah, many Poles come to England this time. They think that money lay on the streets, that's why. Obviously it's little bit different.
2006-07-16 17:09:09
I was also given a letter. Although he claimed not to speak good English, I'm sure I'd seen him before at the Car Boot Sale buying stuff before.
2006-07-16 17:10:37
Maybe, I'm only going by what I've been told so it could easily be Brazillian.

The Polish population here has definitely increased since Poland joined the EU. Although I don't think moving away from Poland really helps the Polish economy, especially if some that move have skills that can be valuable in Poland.
2006-07-16 17:27:04
Well, this is nonsens of our times. Polish people migarte to UK and EIRE and ukrainian people arrive to Poland with the same reason. To be honest I live in London so it means that I'm one of this Poles who came here but my reason was a bit different.
2006-07-16 17:43:53
I don't think those people are too concerned with how them leaving impacts the economy back home.
