That's nonsense. The 'new' countries also have mandatories in the parliament and the commission.

first: the european policy isnt only what you see in the parliament. there are "informal" policy too which is at least as important as the "viewable" policy.
second: the old countries has more congresman. they can veto everything what they want.


and what is this discussion about? about our greatest problem, that there are two different europe. the old and the new. and nobody can understand the others problem. :S

The eu itself answered your question a couple of years ago: The EU advances at 2 different velocities. One group goes faster than the other.

Hungary can veto too but there are only a few decisions taken by unanimity most of the times it's the new principle of the representative majority.

Why? It's going to fast imo. I would never have let the 10 countries in 2004 in the union in one time

@Rubinho... and why.. ?? That new countries are the best countries of EU, because we are not making bigger debts that we can handle :-). EU banks and EU trade need more countries... that was major reason but now we can say that "the best countries" in EU are that last ...:-) look, Spain, Portuguese, France, Italy all have economy and debt problems.. but Slovakia not, Czech not and all others of newcomers :-) Look Hungary or Greece... this older "the best" countries are not killing EU :-(

We are new blood in EU, and Slovakia was the only one country who said NO ! to giving next and next loans as "help" without activities to fix the problem :-).
I think EU should not help to any country and all debt problems should rest on bank side ! but of course that banks which are giving loans which about they know very good that the country will be never be able to re-pay :-) are from Germany and France :-(.

So.. that 10 new countries was very good step of EU for better future of EU :-). Because EU which consist just of old countries are ill :-(.

maybe you was not talking about economy just history or geography... but I want to say this, that these new countries, which get fast ticket to entrance EU was very good step, damn very good step :-DD

I hope you don't mean that all 'old' EU-countries are ill? In that case it's about time to come to Belgium, The Netherlands or Germany... We aren't ill at all. Belgium only has some troubles with the 'ideas' of its two principal communities. But that doesn't mean our economy/country is bad. BTW: it is said that Belgium has defeated the Economical/Financial crisis very well (top 5-position in EU). (see website EU)

EU is about solidarity. If you don't care about this, get out of EU. We have helped Eastern Europe to start over after the disaster called communism. So you should be thankfull to Western Europe. Flanders still pays most of all European citizens btw. So we should stop that too?

Sorry but this is really TV bullshit. WE ARE SOLIDAR... Slovakia just say NO for THIS:
1. No help for country who is cheating in state bookkeeping (greece) ! And if help, just with big sanctions !
2. No help for country or system which is not going to be repaired.

Slovakia told to all EU:
1. We should help to problematic countries but we should make sanctions to that one who was CHEATING and help just with corrections of loan system and no help for banks, they are making loans just for profit and they are abusing system because know that somebody will help.

That is big differences and old countries are not able to open eyes!

Like in sokker, if somebody is arguing that sokker outage make problem with selling price the only one solution is not repair one selling price, but fix the problem of outage.
(that is the reason of upcoming new system of selling fix prices and lower duties for it :-) )

So Slovakia is not against solidarity, we need help too and we gladly will help to others, but we dont like cheaters and banks who are abusing all system and destroying EU !!!

i dont care with rumpil, i know what i know abut him. i dont agree with him at all, but you arent better at all.

1. If EU dont change system and stop this silly debt actions... EURO will die, so if we are forced by stupid banks and EU administration take our old currency, bankruptcy of such a banks will not hurt us :-)

2. If EU want save EURO, EU HAVE TO change the system, the is no other way...
