I did, what I've read, there were first Illyrians. After the Romans came the Albanians. Then ( 6th century ) Serbs conquered it. Than there were tribes than were pretty much free. Then ( 12th century ) Nemanja created Serb Empire.
So yes, Albanians were there for quite a long time.

Of course the map can change because of population. It has happened many times before. For instance in 1920 there was a vote in Schleswig whether they should be a part of Denmark or Germany. Originally people in the area were Danes (as opposed to the Germans in Holstein) but the population changed between 1864 and 1920, and the southern part of Schleswig decided to stay in Germany, while the northern part is what is known as today's Southern Jutland.
could you please specify source of your informations next time so we all could know where this enormous quantity of ignorance is comming from? if you please we can open a new topic where we can talk more seriously about this subject, or you can skmail me and we can keep it as a private discussion. just in few words as i don't wanna spam eu topic. serbs on balcan in 6th century? albanians? nemanja created serb empire? come on.... on average history quiz you'd fail with these answers. putting that aside would you say that american native indians deserve to separate any part of usa they please as the certainly were there first? as latinos are majority in california, would you say they should be allowed to part from usa? entire kosovo subject and the way it was handled is nothing more than practising new world order or the law of the stronger. later came iraq and the famous we want oil...oooup sorry, destroy mass weapons that never existed war. back on topic, i wish to see eu as a strong entity that can in future be something more than a poor pawn in usa fight for dominance and that is only type of eu that i wish my country would join. if situation stays the way it is, with eu being a slave to usa interests, then i'd much rather have my country be a neutral or some kind of russian province
and if you would start learning about international law then you would know that since united nations started to exist after 2nd ww, they introduces some new mechanics in the way states work and change. if someone is a majority in some part of state, like albanians were on kosovo, or like lets say basks are in baskia-spain, they can't separate just cause they want to do so because they still aren't majority in the entire state. following you logic, me and my father could declare our house independant from serbia. we could get 2/2 votes for that, and then we could run our little cool state :D
youst try to google the History of Serbia next time :)
First of all, I did google the history of Kosovo. The things I said were a short note, it's not a lesson in history here.
And yes, if the Indians would want their own country, I'd support it. If California would want to become independent, no problem. But I'm sure they don't want that.
And I didn't support the Iraq and Afghanistan war. We are not a slave of the States. We are allies, very good allies, which is quite normal as the American citizens have their origins in Europe. If you don't like that, stay out of EU. Don't come in, and begin to complain ( as some countries do ). It's a take it or leave it offer. If you want to be a Russian province, go ahead, I wish you the best of luck with that. Russia is an excellent example of how a state should be run ...

You have to follow international law. I guess there will be a minimum of people ( so 2 will never be enough, there must be a 'substantial amount of people' wanting it ). The International Court of Justice has said on 22 July 2010 that Kosovo hasn't violated the Public International Law.
One of the sites I used was this one. And don't give me Serbian sites of course. Serbian, Kosovan or Albanian sites will be biased too much, you understand this, right?
sorry ,Rubinho but I completely dont agree with you...
1. I dont like EU just as little bro of US... EU should have be stronger and have its own strong opinion !
2. I can not accept, that if people in California of maybe lating origin will say "lets make California independent" they will do it really also without US gov acceptance.
They I can with our mayor of my city and people say, let's became independent and we can stop pay taxes :-D
2. And what about that groups in Spain and Irleand and in others states which want to have independent but government of their homeland dont allow it :-) ??? Or what if all turkish population in germany will say, make some part of Germany independent and we all can move there so we will have there 98% majority... you really want to allow this ?

1. I'd like the US and EU being brothers, yes. They are.
2. Read what I've read. Minimum number of people, and you have to follow the International Law.
3. If the Basque want independence, I understand that. If Northern Ireland would want to join Ireland, I understand that. No problem there. And the Turkish example is ridiculous. One of 'my conditions' to claim independence is that throughout history, the people who want independence have lived there for a long time, like the Basque, Irish or Flemish in my country. Or Albanians in Kosovo. The Turkish have emigrated to Germany, that's a whole other case. I hope for you you see the clear difference here. Don't give any more stupid examples, I won't answer them. Be reasonable.

well, just some basques wants the independence, as the catalonianas ( i have many close family in Barcelona)
California was made by spanish!!!! :PPPP
just joking dont get angry
just joking dont get angry
I know, of course another condition is that a majority there actually wants independence.
My basic principle is just that every nation in which a majority wants their own country should have its own country.
