My basic principle is just that every nation in which a majority wants their own country should have its own country.

yeah i got it, if its a big majority, i agree, but in basque country and catalunya less than 50% wants it

In basque country there are around 30% hardly pro-spanish. Around 20% hardly pro-independence. and the rest wants autonomy ( as basque country has) but with no independece

Then I think the current situation ( with Basque Country being under Spanish flag, but ran with a significant autonomy ) is ideal for both the Basques and the other Spanish people.

Why do you think that WW3 would start? Being independent doesn't mean being in war with other countries. I'd like Flanders to be independent, but I'd still want a cooperation with Wallonia, they are still our neighbors.

France is the perfect example of what I don't want a state to be like. Central government that doesn't accept minorities.

If Magyars at the south of Slovakia will want make independent and re-join to Hungary, one small war can became... and then more small groups in every state in EU can try to make similar acts... so more and more small wars till we all are fighting :-)

Then there is a problem of mentality in your country. If a part of Belgium would declare its independence, there wouldn't be any war. Severe discussion, yes, but war, no.

That is really bullshit mate. Frontiers can change without war as a result.
