Subject: your favourite BEER
Just a few of the beers I enjoyed while visiting these regions in the US:
Fat Tyre from New Belgium Brewing (by now a national beer, but years back only on draft in Colorado.)
Pike - Kilt Lifter from The Pike Brewing Company in Seattle
Terminator Stout from mcmenamins in and around Portland Oregon
Original Pub Style from Gritty McDuff's in Portland Maine
San Diego Amber from San Diego Brewing Company

I've been to Nederland last summer, I like your beer but still isn't what you can call a real beer compared to belgian beers...you can always call "beer" german beers but still they're lemonade :P

the Westvleteren 12 was awesome, I tried it last summer.
Also the beers from Rochefort are really delicious :D
In norway there has recently popped up a lot of "micro-breweries" (is that the proper english term?), and some of them have very good products, such as "Nøgne Ø" and "Haandbryggeriet" :)

Westvleteren 12 is very hard to find.

Haha, it's not that strange for a norwegian, so no problem :) I understand your point of view though :)
Westvleteren 12 really is the best beer in the world, I have one left now for a special occasion :p
To make all of you jealous: Westvleteren is only 15 km from my home ;-)
=/, though, just a little advantage as you only can get few bottles a year ...
Eichbaum (="Oaktree") from mannheim, southwest-germany
its water comes from under a nearby cemetary
maybe thats the reason for its unique taste

US is reviving the IPA culture by using belgian brewing processes.
Anyway, about Belgian - Czech beers: Imo the Czech have the better 'Pilsner' beers, but if you want that special taste ... you'll have to go belgian.
On topic: mine currently is Keizer Karel Robijn. The other one is St Bernardus abt, which is basically the same as West Vleteren as the West vleteren monks' recipe was designed by the Watou brewers who brew St Bernardus.

My favorite beer is Opa Bier. It's made in Joinville, Brazil.
It have a very singular taste, very different than another brazilian beers.
