You don't have almost the highest taxes. There are a lot of countries with higher taxes (Scandinavian countries, Low Countries, Germany, Austria, ...).

You have to compare our income with the cost of living. Living in Belgium is rather expensive.

25% is normal, not 'almost highest'...

check for yourself

I must admit I have not seen the table .. information draw from GDP

Some of you know that Croatia will soon become a full member of EU so our dear politicians are introducing all European standards, but they forgot one small thing and that is that with these prices and wages have to go :)
2012-05-15 18:31:36
Thats a bitch indeed. Estonia had same thing in 2004, but luckily it was economic boom time then so we didnt suffer that much with those EU standards.

Why do you wanna join euro now tho?:P
2012-05-15 18:41:33
Croatia isn't joining the Eurozone. They're joining the EU.
2012-05-15 18:46:57
yeah, kind of the same problem in here. the minimum wage here is 1400zl/300€

average salary: ~3000zł/750€
2012-05-15 18:52:35
Minimum wage in Belgium: € 1.443,54 euro. Average wage in 2009 was € 3.027.

what are the costs of 1m of apartment in big cities?
2012-05-15 18:59:09
but European Union is Eurozone, or am i mistaking something or wat?:D
2012-05-15 18:59:59
nope

Poland doesn't have euro even though we're in the EU for quite some time
GB doesn't have euro as well....
2012-05-15 19:04:55
Dunno, depends on size etc. I'd say between € 800 and € 1.000 in the big cities.
2012-05-15 19:05:05
You're mistaken. Blue = Eurozone, Blue + green + red = EU, pink = non-EU that uses Euro as currency.
