Yooohoooo!!!!! Argentina beat Russia 3 - 2(we lost the finals to them, 3 - 2 in Moscow in 2006), Del Potro defeated Andreev in 3 straight sets to give the third point for Argentina in the 5th rubber of the series of this year semifinals. Argentina will receive Spain, that beat USA 4 - 1, for the final of 2008 Davis Cup Finals.

35 minutes away from the first match:

Nalbandian vs. Ferrer

Afterwards Del Portro vs. Lopez

The stadium will have the best atmosphere ever in a Davis Cup final, it's going to be an incredible series!!

Come on Argentina!!!!!!

"The stadium will have the best atmosphere ever in a Davis Cup final"

Maybe the first two games... the argentinian supporters in the third game were a shame for tennis.

When a player serves, the supporters have to be silent, and in the third set this didn't happen. They were whistling til the argentinian player received the ball.

Also, they insulted seriously the Spanish team with hard words (whores, son of a bitch)...

In the end, one spaniard had to do the same (just once, not like the argentinians)... whistle in the argentinian service. And you know what happened? they got mad!!! So hypocrisy!

I don't agree jano, argentinians started with those chantings when the umpire did nothing after a spanish woman screamed 2 times, 1st. and 2nd. Nalbandian service, that costed Argentina a very important point of the tie break. Before that argentinians were behaving correctly, moreover the umpire almost didn't let argentinians to celebrate the points won. Anyway Spain won fair and square the doubles match, the thing that woman did made lose only a point, argentinian players should have calm down and won the tie break that was at that time 5 - 2 for us. Except for that brief moment after that spanish woman started it, the people behave more than correctly, I think spanish press exagerated the whole deal way too much, like if argentinians were animals. By the way, I really liked how argentinian fans clapped their hands cheering the champion and how spanish players and fans retributed that gesture chanting Argentina, Argentina!!!!! So everthing's in peace. ;)

Anyway, Congrats to Spain you were troughout the whole series a fair and square winner, I take my hat off for your players, cause they came here, being visitors, without your best player and played very well.

The only thing I can regret is how unlucky are we, that we had in the history 3 finals, 2 as vistors, USA(with Jimmy Connors and McEnroe), almost impossible to beat them(well we had Vilas and Clerc), Russia, close series, 3 - 2 for them, and the first final played in Argentina we had to play it against Spain that is 1 of the best in the same surface our players play it's best.

that woman yelled after a good number of screams from argentinian followers... they started when they were 5-2, and the spaniard did it at least when they were 5-5, in a very important point.

I don't trust spanish media... but I remember myself being really fucked with that attitude. I was yelling at home as well :P, and when the spanish woman did it I really felt good.

About the other games, and, exactly, talking about all the other sets of all the games of the final the argentina's followers attitude was perfect. What they did at the end of the final is something to be proud of.

But I was really, really, really pissed off that set.

Well Done España!

Fans scream, it's Davis Cup, but not exactly at the moment you have to hit the ball, they scream between services, not like that woman 2 times, 1 after the other. So it was logical people being pissed off, when the umpire didn't do anything after the second 1. After that, I acknowlege that argentinians started doing the same that woman did, but several times, to me it was an umpire's mistake, he should have warned the first time and then give a point to Argentina to avoid the situation that took place after that. ;)

I wonder why supporters cannot scream during a game? Is this a kind of rule? The normal thing is, if they are playing in Argentina, Argentinian fans will be cheering their players and yelling at Spanish ones...

Just to let you know, I'm a 0 in tennis world, just asking :P
2008-11-23 21:52:46
because the player can loose his concentration...

I played proffesional tennis for 7 years, I was in top at 15,16,17 years old rankings, so I know what I'm talking about :) there's a great concentration in the game, great focus, you have to pay attention to the ball and opponent... every sound, movement, can change a match...

"Fans scream, it's Davis Cup, but not exactly at the moment you have to hit the ball, they scream between services, not like that woman 2 times, 1 after the other."

The same that some argentinian supporters did several times before that spanish woman ;) They stopped when the ball arrived to the argentinian player, so they were doing it during all the service.

I've already told you, the spaniard did exactly the same that some argentinians did before, but she just did it once, maybe twice.
2008-11-24 00:27:23
and loose the concentration in tennis is way worse than loose it in football, for example.

Just imagine supporters yelling and insulting one of theplayers of a chess championship... it's way far to be the same case, but it could be a good example.

We won't agree, cause to me she did it when every1 was silent, Nalbandian was throwing the ball to the air and in the exact moment he was about to hit the ball, she screamed. At least the umpire warned argentinians, while he did nothing when she did it, both times. But as I've told before it's not relevant anymore, Spain is fair champion. ;)

so what... when you're trying to sink a free throw you also have to focus and concentrade, but people is screaming aswell :P
