Subject: Supporters Mood Dropping...
Please give me the exact formula then presumably that you have gotten from Greg, I have seen no news on the exact formula.
Nobody's ever seen an exact formula for anything in this game - you have to work it out yourself :) The only message from Greg was that it was based on each teams performance for the last few seasons.
How come when you work it off ratings and ranking you don't need a formula to complain about it but if I work it of league positions you need to see game code? :) I'm not saying I have it perfectly right in working it out; just a lot more right than you ;)

I ever tried to understand the fan formula logically and literally and it works in most cases so I don't have to know the formula exactly.^^
I have seen no news item or quote from Greg saying that.
On page 12 of this topic PolarBear gave some info from mails swapped with Greg and that is the only thing I have seen. From that post.........

Which is a great way of ensuring that you don't get constructive critisism and making everyone who complains look like whiners.
One more concrete piece of info was that friendly have only marginal effect on the mood. Greg said: "Friendly games influence on supporters mood is marginal. Rather nobody care about it (it hasn't changed with new system)."

I see nothing there about previous league positions although it is ambiguous which is probably adding to all the confusion on this issue.
If league positions are used somehow then the maximum difference should be 4 places unless I am missing something between the 2 clubs because it's 5th-8th playing against the winner of the tier below.
I have stated in all my replies that the two strengths of the teams should be taken into consideration and although av ratings are not totally reliable I see nothing else that is and you yourself have used it before when it suited.

I was speaking about the previous seasons finishing league position not the current one. If you're going to scroll through twelve pages of a thread to find a quote that doesn't disprove what I'm saying you could at least look at what I was showing you in my other post ;) Previous matches = Previous league position do they not?

As I said it's ambiguous, past league positions could well play some part but how much? What in that sentence makes you think that more than the last few results are used or the last season? Past league positions might not even play a part. It could be amount of wins in last so many games, amount of wins with a win margin more then +3 in the last so many games, it could be win/lose streak, it could be points gained in last so many seasons.
The only sure thing is that it uses more then one criteria so I don't see how I need to disprove what you claim. I personally think that results are worked out on the planet sqidtzrelon and then sent to sokker before the start of each season, feel free to disprove me.

Look at his results in terms of his opponents league positions from the last few seasons- I can see why his fans would be depressed. Teams that have won their countries top league the season before have suffered the harshest penalties in the mood changes. Again this backs up my theory.
I'm showing you a way you can work out why fan mood changes the way it does. It works for every game I've looked at, of course I might be wrong but I haven't seen a better theory yet... You don't have to 'believe' it if you don't want to :)

i've accidentally promoted to the A-League after only 7 seasons of playing sokker, so i guess i can be a guinea pig as to how well the system works concerning underdogs...
It doesn't really matter if you are right or not, the fact is that this system is stupid and unpopular.
Winners of leagues and winners of cups have suffered and at least one champion has said in public that he is going to get relegated on purpose. His reasoning is that if he is going to get battered by the mood he may as well do stupidly bad while he rebuilds then won't have the expectations when he pushes for the title again. Whatever happened to encouraging competition.

I agree that the system feels somewhat stupid. Eventough we won the top league in Sweden the supporters are furious and we lost 18 of them right after we secured the title. I understand that this probably is due to that we have won the title the previous three seasons and we didn't perform as well this season as we have before but still it feels a bit strange to have furious supporters when you win the top league. I guess they didn't care much about that we sold some of our best players and bought some talented trainees instead and still managed to claim the title.
This is totally insane. This must be changed.

this is the most awfull change in sk history. this game was supposted to be very close to real football, or at least that's what the devs always said.
i win with 8-0 in cup and the result is: Your supporters are losing hope
i don't care about loosing supporters and i don't even care that this change is an advantage for new users and a big disadvantage for old users, but i can't be pasive to the fact that it make absolutelly no ... sense!!!
if i'm a barca supporter and they win with 8-0 against a very poor team, do i get mad??? it's insane!!!:(

My team wins today with 3-1 in Romanian Cup against one team on II.place in league VI.(my team is in leagueV)and the supporters was lose his hope.
Now i need to win again in championship,AGAINST THE CHAMPIONS IN MY GROUP(!!!) for increase the hope of the supporters onto normal.This is not fair.

thats the sokker reality ;), noone can reflect the real football than sokker... but it is meaningles to say anything, those who must see and understand are blind and deaf... and nothing is going to change... except going worse as it was seen to be every time...
