Subject: [Idea] Less leagues per division

2012-01-09 18:39:07
reason no1: poland ;)

Solution could be that the moment a country has more as X number of managers the current system is used 1,4,16,64 etc, but if there are less then X number of managers another system is used (idea of Rubinho) 1,2,4,8 etc.
Very good idea! :)

Only thing is, not every small country has the same problems. In the Netherlands the botteams the bottom 2 divisions is the biggest problem, and as you wrote, in Belgium it's the difference of strength between the bottom 2 divisions.

In Spain going from V to IV division is a very big step, in some leagues too big to handle it. However, if I started this game in VII division, I wouldn't have played it :S

good idea by itself with the potential to make the leagues more exciting but how would you handle things like the sponsorbudgets? because you can only overcome so much with tactics alone ...

for example: a team in 5th division in belgium gets approximately only half the sponsorbudget of a team in 4th division so they can't afford much while they're in 5th and with hardly any cash in their account the ones who rise are suddenly supposed to go up against teams who can often afford to throw in some higher league players in their team to win their matches.

that's the unbalance why every newer team struggles to overcome the older teams in their division, except for weak bot-teams off course like most teams are in 5th division in belgium and that situation also does not help to improve the financial situation or the tactical awareness for the human managers up to a 'normal' standard of other users.

But it is also kinda normal to have large differnces between the numbers 1 and 8. In a RL division it's not that strange a team that got promoted will be beaten with large numbers when they play against the number 1 and 2. And it's also normal they have to struggle to stay in that division the first few seasons because they just earn a fraction of what the teams in the top of that division earn.

I'm not saying the difference isn't too large, but a (big) gap between the number 1 and 8 is kinda normal and it shouldn't become to easy too get to the top of the division because that wouldn't be fair for the topteams.

well in a perfect world the top teams would constantly have to prove that they deserve to be called that because they can handle the worst disadvantages but can still overcome them. unfortunately it's indeed not a perfect world we live in ;)

we can even imagine a division with (far)more than 8 teams and a play-off.
Yes, but then can be problem that some 4 league will be stronger than 3rd, I think..., very occasionaly but possible!

Ofcourse some leagues will be stronger as others, but I think overall the differences between the division will be less as it is now in countries with not that many managers.

nice idea

good idea i also would like to suggest regular cleaning and resting the bot teams by sending the national players on the market

by sending the national players on the market

agree. some users when retiring they are sold their players and then bought one or two NT players of certain country so that the country couldn't use their players again for the future because that players won't get any training which is caused by his team forfeited the game. not cool!

Unbelievable... Why don't they finally solve this simple problem? NT players should not be sacked and should also be released to the market when they bot teams get reset.

And on top of that bot teams should get reset and relegated to bottom divisions at the end of each season and then leagues should be redrawn with more promotions for teams replacing bots. Then we also wouldn't need less leagues per division.

+1
I can also post this in this topic :)

Another solution could be to go from x4 to x3 divisions, but with 8 teams in each league as it is now, like this:

Divisions x3:

Division 1 – 1 league (8 teams)
Division 2 – 3 leagues (24 teams)
Division 3 – 9 leagues (71 teams)
Division 4 – 27 leagues (216 teams)
Division 5 – 81 leagues (648 teams)
Division 6 – 243 leagues (1944 teams)
Division 7 – 729 leagues (5832 teams)
Division 8 – 2187 leagues (17496 teams)

And then for example the best 66% numbers 1 promote directly, the other 33% numbers 1 play P/D matches. So this will mean the numbers 7 and 8 degrade directly and the numbers 6 play P/D matches.
Or the other way around, the best 33% numbers 1 promote directly, the other 66% numbers 1 play P/D matches, so the numbers 8 degrade directly and the numbers 6 and 7 play P/D matches.

This way many countries will get only 1 more extra division (like Poland will go from 7 to 8 divisions) and that is acceptable. And I think this will make the gap between divisions a bit smaller so when teams promote they don't have play against way to strong teams in that next division after promotion. And because there are less teams in each division, the bottom league will have more active leagues with less botteams as many botteams can be deleted.
