Subject: [IDEA] Reduce injury time (doctor)

Charles Hill to All
This is an old idea but I like it so that's why I made this new topic and this time with a poll. I already posted my idea in another topic but I have put all info together to make it more clear.

Please read before you vote, thanks :)

It would be nice to be able to reduce the players time of injury, but this will cost money (salary) ofcourse :) And it would be wise to use a system all managers are already accustomed to. And ofcourse it should benefit all managers.

This is the idea:
Managers need to buy/recruit a doctor (or whatever he will be called) to reduce the players time of injury. How much days a doctor can reduce the players time of injury will depend on his general appraisal. If a manager has the best (unearthly) doctor, the doctor can reduce the players time of injury, for example, by 33% (see example in italics below).

If I understood correctly the influence of the general appraisals isn't a linear line. The influence between the first general appraisals (average, adequate, good etc) is more as the last general appraisals (brilliant, magical, unearthly), and that makes this idea also interesting for teams with less money to spend! --> see picture below, dashed line in the graphic:

X= General Appraisal (from tragic to unearthly)
Y= total days of injury (without a doctor)
R= reduce of injury time (up to 33% with an unearthly doctor)

To make this idea work it is not necessary to create new staff members for teams, only 1 new job/function is enough (doctor), and just use exactly the same recruit method and trainers-tranferlist as used for the head coaches, assistants and junior coaches. The only thing managers need to do is buy/recruit 1 more new staff member, like all managers are already accustomed to, and assign him as doctor, if they want to have a doctor. So with this idea there will be 4 different kind of staff members (head coach, assistant, junior coach and doctor) and not 3 anymore.
To be clear, the headcoach/assistant/junior coach isn't also the doctor, and 1 of these coaches can't be reassigned as doctor like you can do between the coaches. I think it would be very strange if you can reassign a coach to be the doctor and back to coach again.

Example: During a match a player gets injured for 21 days. A manager buys/recruits an unearthly staff member/employee and assign him as doctor. With this unearthly doctor the time of injury will be reduced to 14 days (33% less). When the player is healed, the manager can decide to keep the doctor, or fire him to lower the salary expenses and hire a new doctor when needed.

The only 3 things that needs to be changed in the text of coaches (see picture below) and training page are:
- 'Coach' should become something like 'Staff member' or 'Employee', so you can make a staff member/employee: the head coach, assistant, junior coach or doctor. This makes sense I think.
- 'Training effectiveness:' should become something like 'Training effectiveness as head coach:' as this is already the only coach the specific skills are important for :) all other staff members/employees are judged by the general appraisal.
- The page 'Training session' should be changed to something like 'Staff member section' or 'Employee section'.

Before someone starts about this: yes, richer teams can get closer to max healing, but poorer teams can get an OK doctor that won't cost to much salary and still have noticeable less days of injury because it's not linear!! But ofcourse richer teams can afford a better doctor as poorer teams. Isn't that always? The same can be said of head coach, assistants and junior coach ;)

EDIT: and please don't start about HT :) HT is not unique and HT didn't invent doctors. That game is also using concepts of other games that already existed way before HT.

great idea!! +1

can we do something for the player's form also??(i had a striker on tragic for a century!!!)

As long as their not a huge difference between Tragic and Unearthly, for the sake of the weaker teams, then yes
2011-10-30 15:55:23
I don't know exactly how much difference there is between the non-linear steps, but half of tragic-unearthly is more as half the influence a doctor will have. I think a very good/excellent doctor will take at least 20% of the days of injury, but that's what I think.

Maybe someone did some research on this non-linear influence with, for example, a junior coach. What is the maximum talent with a very good junior coach, an excellent junior coach, a formidable junior coach etc. Than you have your answer :)

If you want to have doctors, you could play HT
2011-11-06 17:30:37
I did, but Sokker is much better ;)

I like how you use a "Chilean" coach that looks like a drug gang leader for you example xD
Bad idea. It would just introduce "buying" shorter injury time. Where's the fun in that?
i played a game on line few days ago....
they have 60 !!!! different match kits to select for your team!!!
at least can we have that on sokker please???? :)

I think the fun is to have 1 more staff member/employee to the club. Doctors is also common in real football so this would make Sokker a bit more like reality (I know, Sokker is a game but still fun to make it more realistic).

Also I think it's fun to have some % influence on injuries, but not to much as it won't be realistic if a doctor can heal players to quickly. Besides, every manager can choose to buy/recruit a doctor or not, just as assistants and junior coaches is someones own choice to buy/recruit them or not.

I don't really like ideas that will change the Match Engine because I think that is already good as it is, but I do like ideas as visual additions (see topic Referee and assistant referees) and/or other extra additions to the club, such as doctors.

And because this idea works the same as buying/recruiting assistants and junior coaches, every manager is already used to it and that would make it easy to introduce. And not only for the managers but I think also for programming and implementing this idea.

Hope that never happens. HT bullshit's for compensate the horrible game play

The problem is that we would all be able to "buy" recovery with doctors at the same cost but with different value. It would always be more profitable to heal more valuable players. So basically, rich clubs would always use this option and poor clubs only if it is valuable to them. So, by introducing this option, comparably you would give less injury time for more valuable players.
