Subject: [Idea] Sokker Open Source

I think that Sokker should follow other businesses and become open source... that would be a bit different being a game and greg not wanting to loose its copyrights.

So some users (with flash and programming skills) are made developers ...they all develop ideas (developing means more then just coming up with it) and then greg decides which ones to implement. It would be a lot faster and the game would grow!

I am sure there are a lot of us that want to make this happen and also have the skills for it!

Anyway its a lot better then leaving the game to die...as it is!

People already can become developers and develop new ideas. The stadium generator was made by a user, some of the match animations were made by users, player pictures were made by users.

It's already possible but nobody wants to do it.

And how does one become a developer?

The game dev is dead, so open source it is a good idea.
But the project need an active dev, Greg is not, who cares about Greg decision? The project need money for server, and not in greg s pocket ... So .. good luck.

This is the best idea that could be found in this section. But it is impossible to get response from Greg, i have contacted him several times about Sokkers future, but nothing. I also did offer to help with the graphic design. I just wonder how many coders we have in this game, and how i can find them =)

no way. Greg never change the deal until he made profit with sokker.
And because i talk with many dev around sokker their culture are generally not open source.

Why? The game would grow again, and he would make a bigger income from ads and plus....
