I'll just add the private transfer idea i had here in more detail.
You can bid on players not up for sale. The bid you put in is recorded as an offer for the player and everyone can see it. If the owner chooses to sell, they can look at the list of bidders and choose which one to sell to. For example

Jonathan Holt

Team A bids 1000000 euro
Team B bids 980000 euro
Team C bids 500000 euro

etc. The owner can choose whose bid to accept or put the player in the auction. I like this system because it's transparent but it's not simply a case of the player going to whoever has the most money. I'm sure any suspicious bids would be reported.
I'm wasting my time with this anyway. It'd take 4 years to implement at the current speed of progress.

i like your style ;) it will be 4 years till the u-21 teams i reckon :)

im playing a game FA Arena and england is in its 2nd season and already have a u21 and a u18 team! they were built straight away.

"I'm wasting my time with this anyway. It'd take 4 years to implement at the current speed of progress."

If it would be implemented at all. I don't like this idea at all. This idea can almost only be used for cheating. Why would you ever sell a player for less money than you could get for? Of course, to benefit the one you're selling him to.

i don't think he is implying you have to sell them at all. I think what he means is if you are interested in selling a player someone can make you an offer and you can choose the best offer if you want to list him.
2008-02-01 22:45:08
No, he's talking about chosing the buyer after being put on the TL:

Actually thinking about it though. There is a good way it could be done by altering the current auction system.
Say you put a player up for sale publicly and 10 people bid on him, all bids are recorded and shown publicly and the owner chooses who to sell to. Maybe the highest, maybe the best trainer, maybe a countryman.

And I understand why he's in favor of this idea. He wants to be able to choose to who talented national youths are being sold to. I really admire how much he's gone with his national team, but I don't think things like this are that easy to implement.

'to be gone with something/somebody' probably is not a good expression, but I currently don't know how to say it otherwise.

You can bid on players not up for sale

what does this mean then :P
2008-02-01 22:52:18
i like this idea instead of all the SK Mailing! and people backing out!

so then someone can bid on a player thats up for sale but not on the TL and if the owner likes this offer he can accept it the bid is placed automatically with out the hassle of people backing out or having a player placed up for sale for a price you might not get :)

"The owner can choose whose bid to accept or put the player in the auction."

And this?:P

I can think of multiple ways how to abuse this. I for instance could say that my 17 years old pull has solid striker, technique and pace instead of solid keeper, stamina and playmaking.

No-one would bid on a player they had no information on but the advertisement system is already in place. There are players on there currently that i would love to bid on but theyre not for sale.
The reason that i'm for this comes down to the national team. There have been occassions when i wanted one of my players to go to an Irish club, the club put a very good bid in that i was happy with but someone else came in and topped it. In certain circumstances i would rather lose money than have my player go to a club that wont train them properly. It's also a far more realistic system.
2008-02-01 23:14:45
Would be great if we could find a way to make sure national team players are trained properly.
2008-02-01 23:18:41
I would be able to sell my super talented youth pulls to my friends because I already have enough good youths or I just exchanged a trainee with another team to get a complete team trained or I give a player to my friend who's a newbie because he doesn't have any value for my team anymore, but is still worth much money for him.
2008-02-01 23:30:58
There are two ways to deal with that. You can either keep the current system of suspect transfers being dealt with or you can say "If you want to give away your players for nothing, thats your choice"
2008-02-01 23:48:37
It's not fair if I would give 5 players of a market value of around 100k each to a friend of mine who started yesterday. When he puts these players on the TL I'm just giving him money.
