Wouwh fantastic match by our kiwis, the keeper had an amazing saves in the first minutes and our strikers have shown that they don't care about the rival goalkeeper (Kənan Əhmədov).
The defender line and midfielders had a nice day again, I don't remember when are the date they have played bad, the only bad new is the red card for Trevor Allinson who can't play the next match, but not a problem we had a very good team.
The best of the math for me was Tama Kightley , he seemed like messi in some game sets and he had a lot of guilt about the final result.
Next match will be against Pilipinas U21 and we are expected to continue with the winning streak that we are in (7 victories)

That was the first U21 match I've watched for a while (sorry :P), so I've got a lot to say. And if it weren't for those meddling kids, I would have watch it live!
As it happens, I peeked at the score before watching. Even if I hadn't, just looking at the Azer formation before kick-off I knew there was no way we would lose. Their tactic was not good, and not taking anything away from you but I think it helped a lot. I see it is pretty much the same as the one against BiH 3 weeks ago, except the single striker has been brough back more. The Azer coach may have thought he was onto a winner with it since BiH outrated them by a lot and lost, but I'm not going to watch that match so I can't say too much about it. In any case, their wingers were pretty much in line with our winger/midfielders so went no-where. They needed to be wider to have any chance of firing in some crosses for their striker, who did very little that was memorable apart from that double save by Root. However, having seen, I think it was Glenn Stanton, completely mowing down their winger when he did manage to get past the midfield (in second half), maybe it wouldn't have had too much of an impact.
Whether by coincidence or tactics, our strikers were very well placed to get past their defence. #9 was especially convenient having no obstructions when the formations were set - on that note, was I seeing things or did you swap the strikers around at half time? :P
The first 25 minutes were quiet for the strikers but they went to town after that - Azer were lucky to only concede 5 goals really. In hindsight our 4+1 defence was overkill for their 1 man attack. Could have scored more goals with an extra mid (attacking?), but nevertheless, a win is a win.
Congrats, and yes, lets carry on with that winning streak :P

yep, I think the same, his tactic wasn't the best for play against us. I hoped 4 defenders and 2 advanced strikers... anyway I don't like his tactic and his players are not good enough if we compare them with the players of the last season...
you're very observant, I have changed the possitions of the strikers on 70' because in my tactic they haven't played as the same type of striker-game, and I wanted to see who are the differences between them. But anyway our strikers are very good and moreover if the defender line isn't very hard like today, so I don't have seen very much
thanks for comments, they are welcome :)

Just a note,
Chuck Root is up for sale now. I haven't had time for this game, what with a newborn and wife to look after.

Just log in once or twice a week and train him...don`t leave..and take him off the market lol. Just spend 10 minutes on sokker per week, not a hard thing to do.
:)
Please..
:)
Please..
If a team defaults, do the players still get trained?
No.
But please take him off the market if you can...Just set the lineup..visit us once a week and it will take about 5-10 minutes. And train him in keeping.
Shouldn´t be a hard thing to do.

I think we have losen a keeper trainer :( but maybe pace for him can't be bad at all
Hey mate, would suck to see another Kiwi team leave. How about you give me the wife to look after, and you can just concentrate on Sokker and the kid. I mean, they're pretty similar sometimes, aren't they? ;P
This is the table after "Mini WC week 2"
Group H
1) New Zealand 6 8-1
2) Island 4 8-3

New Zealand U21 - Pilipinas U21 3-1
WEEK 03
Pilipinas U21 - Azerbaycan U21
New Zealand U21 - Island U21
Last match against Pilipinas I wanted to see the young midfielders and keep some important players in all the lines. The tactic of the opponent was good and they have done a great match and maybe made feel me some nervous with the 2-1 but his players were weak comparising our players and it wasn't a very difficoult victory. It was the debut of Will Howell, one of the best promising mids for next season.
Next match will be against Island U21. It seems will be the most difficoult match and I hope to have enough time for prepare it because this week begin my mad travel to Australia, we will se if will come to fruition.

Omg, what a mistake, I thought being second we will be in the next round, and the bad result made we are out. Surely I played for win, but not with the best choice. Very much teams doing the groups and this wasn't a very deserved final of the competition for us :(
I was thinking more about my travel to Australia and maybe with more time I could take more time, but this isn't the case.

excuse me, my trip in australia have gone as a runaway bull and I cant fix the friendly for the last week. I hope do it this friendly if I have time
Mourinho have come back again, and he have found some engine changes so he will do new tactics. He hopes to get better results begining soon
Finally the result was Schweiz U20 4 - 0 New Zealand U20
This isn't a good result but considering 1 goal of Schweiz was from the middle of the field and the 15 rating points of difference between the teams (Schweiz is a very strong NT), I'm happy with the new tactic and only few things have to be fixed in this tactic.
Next match will be against Nicaragua U21 where I want to keep proving new tactics for the new greg philosophy

Hey hey
last match was New Zealand U21 1 - 1 India U21, difficult match against a strong keeper again, but not bad result anyway.
Next match will be against USA U20. Good time to look at the U20 again and to know what level we have for next qualification. Don't forget is USA, they have a good NT this time but we are kiwis and we know how to do a very well sting
