no, the skills that the junior gets when he comes out are random. Its only the general appraisal (average in your case) that counts towards how many weeks it takes for a junior to pop. A worse coach will take more weeks to pop and vice versa with a better coach.

I would recommend you get a general appraisal of your coach to be formidable/outstanding. It doesn't cost much more and you get a lot better results (the cheapest formid/outst coaches go for $NZ17K a week or so)

the individual skills for the coach only count for when he is your main coach, so if you are training pace, you want a coach who has unearthly/magical pace ability.

bad luck both ways :/

Yeah mate.

Bit of a bumma. Both 19 and half good enuff.
I dont keep many juniors, got to have talent or i sack them. So youth pulls are few and far between.

I will give them a run tomorrow against Bot to see what they are like

what skill counted for junior coach, u mean that the average skill it is, but for example if i want to pull a very good passing skill youngster, so i have to hire a formidable/outstanding junior coach with magical passing skill, right?
2007-04-21 09:01:30
skills that a junior comes out with are totally random unfortunately :(
2007-04-21 12:22:02
u mean that if my junior coach is a poor passing skill coach but my junior could come out with a very good passing skill? is it paradox?
and an average junior can be better than an excellent junior?
2007-04-21 13:31:15
my old junior coach, who had tragic goalkeep, gave way to the current NT goalkeeper for NZ, so yes.. a paradox indeed :P
2007-04-21 17:05:26
but what is the average skill of ur old coach
2007-04-22 02:10:32
outstanding

dont think you need to match that though, i was earning way more so i could afford it.
2007-04-24 11:21:16
so, in conclusion, the average skill of junior coach take effect, like assistant, right?
2007-04-24 12:31:38
yep

I'm starting to get teh hang of this youth system. I'm maxed out with an average of solid & several looking like they will exceed formidable by a long way. Stretched out over 31 weeks...shoudl I cull them based on how far out they are because they will end up costing too much...or purely on their potential?
2007-05-12 04:50:42
i'd say a bit of both with your level of available finances. Personally, i keep anyone average + and fire anyone that has 6 or more weeks talent.
