I was the coach of u21 of my country for 3-4 seasons and I have managed to put the team almost 20 positions up since I started. this is what I want for New Zealand as well.
Its a great challenge for me and I hope that my experience can help too.
thank you in advance.

first match of the season. we played quite well and we had 2-3 very good chances to score.
I wish we had a better gk but thats the way it is.
I hope we can achieve better performances next time.

you lacked some luck to get a draw at least...head up, you can still make at least 6 points from this group
good luck
good luck
I want to ask 2 big favours from all users of new zealand :
1) whenever you draw a new player from youth school and you plan to keep him, please post it in forum or at least send the skills to me.
2) please keep me updated with the skills of all u21 players you have.

Since we couldnt win our today match I am pretty sure that we wont have any win at all.
Vietnam had no goalkeeper.
Somebody expects all players to try to score from any distance but no.
Only 7 shots. Some of them with 1-to-0 ( gk ) but no.
We could not score.
We had a 50-50 possession but we could not have clear opportunities for goals.
For our defense : The problem is that with 1 own goal and 1 mistake from our gk we received 2 goals and thats all how 3-1 came out. Its a pity because last week our gk was the man of the match.
Unfortunately the level of our players are till this point.

today, unfortunately as always, we played for 0-0.
we did it extremely well till 77' when denmark scored a goal and after some minutes they scored one more.
I think that generally we play quite well but the main problem is that we cannot have good opportunities to score.
In every match I am trying to have some players too from bot teams in order to save as many players as I can. Even if they are actually useless it would be nicer to have as big database as we can.
the most worrying thing is that we dont have alternative solutions to any of the positions.
we dont have the variety we want but this is far more acceptable in countries like ours that have few teams that have youth teams.
If you agree, we could organize some things among the community here in order every manager to focus to different kind of training in order always to have some nice players to every zone.
Do you agree with that?
Do you want to start organizing things? Is there anyone that wants to participate on this ?

I never got a response for any of the managers here in New Zealand. probably we dont have many forum readers.
so we continue with the existing plan : lets move on and we will see. no programming for getting players better and better.
no problem.
for the today's match : we did it till 70.
we had an injury that messed up our subs plan but everything is acceptable.
the team didnt play very well and opponent had many opportunities to score. 3-4 players today played very well and all the others were just average.
lets hope that we can altogether make a plan for having strong u21 players in new zealand.
from my point of view I am trying to save from botification as many players as I can

Well, without players worth to train there isn't that much I could do...
you have 30 in youth school.
perhaps you could invest there. buy better coach and train these players instead of having young players from other country

Mate, there isn't much more I could invest with 30 youngsters and a magical coach. I even trained a former youth team goalkeeper to earn 26 U21 caps for New Zealand - as a midfielder. I'd really like to have only players progressed from my own youth, but it's not really worth it to train a 19 y/o player from NZ if you can have the same quality of player aged 17 from abroad.
if you dont face issues with your economy you can try to get a divine coach.
and you should try leaving the most talented at youth school by firing the most untalented.
according to my opininion its better to have a 19yo player from new zealand than a 17yo from abroad.
why? because your 19yo will have many many chances to play in u21. so you can get a big value on transfer market.
its far more better to have chandler steel who is average at your team than having an average polish / spanish / brazilian / greek etc who will never have any nt appearance.
thats why I had him in one match. in order any manager from new zealand to buy him and train him properly

The better (more expensive) your coach, the less it makes sense to train untalented or older players. Some U21 caps won't help you to compensate for the money you're losing there when selling those players. Training such players with a divine coach won't really make a difference and will only help you running into bankrupty as fast as possible.
I started saying : "IF you DONT face issues with economy"
my opinion is that its always better to train a player from countries that have few alternatives rather than having average players from a country with lots of players.
your player gains extra trainings, experience and you get extra money when you sell him.
you can check some of the latest trransfers of 19yo players of new zealand.
you have your way of thinking. its more than acceptable to think that is waste of time and money to have some average players from new zealand.
BUT
we have to make a stronger u21 and nt team.
since we have few active managers and even fewer youth teams, every player counts

Well, what I said is that you will always face issues with economy sooner or later if you get yourself a divine coach, and then train nontalented average players. Maybe some U21 matches for a player will get you a few % extra, but in the end it's the quality of the player that decides about the transfer fee - not to mention your first team will lack quality and thus your ticket and sponsorship income will decrease as well.
I did give training to quite some NZ players and currently have three of my former youth players in my first team, I don't think that's that bad. Believe me, I'd really like to have a 100% homegrown midfield - but paying big wages for your coaches you can only do that with some luck in your youth school. And luck isn't on my side for quite a while now (just have a look on my transfers).
> since we have few active managers and even fewer youth teams, every player counts
This is why my youth school still has 30 slots...

at last.
at 27 we got a red card. the problem was not big enough since the other players filled the blank that morrison left.
but the problem got much bigger when our wingback got suspended.
at that time we had no player to play against 2 players that player in andorra's right wing. luckilly gillespie but wallace as well played good enough. I had an order in case of a red card of any of the 4 defenders but morrison was the man who should substitute any of them. but morrison was not there.
our mid zone is a standard.all of our midfielders play extremely well and help in def and att.
our strikers are not the best but I think that we can find a way to create some opportunities.
the not good thing is that vagana is not trained as it should be. he lost 2-3 trainings. and thats a pity because he is the most talented I have ever seen here in new zealand. i have contacted the manager but im not sure if he will be trained properly.
I checked 2 other players in today's match. Welch and Kirwan. im not satisfied from them but it was a test.
I always try to find the pros and cons of the opponent in order to have the proper formation.
this is what I will continue doing even if at the end the result is a loss
