Gary Edwards is on the TL.

I had no idea this was coming, else I would have warned you all (and kept some powder dry myself). He could use a little more pace, but the most substanial gains would be in the midfield skills (tech, pass, pm).
2007-07-02 07:54:13
love the public note.
2007-07-02 08:57:23
suppose that's one way to find out skills of opposition teams :p. Won't matter much anyway in the scheme of things.
2007-07-03 21:49:18
Especially if Edwards doesn't play due to his continuing crap-tacular form. :S

Edwards did sell for a hair more then I expected. :P He's landed with a team that trains midfield skills (my guess is technique) - have messaged the new owner, but haven't heard back yet.
2007-07-03 21:53:04
Watts must be worth a mint if he went for that much.
2007-07-03 22:02:33
It makes you wonder. Heck, he's in tragic form - could take a season or two to crawl out of it.

I thought this comparable Canadian defender, sold earlier in the week, would give a decent indication of Edward's price. Wasn't anywhere near.

John Root, one of New Zealand's bright young middies, took a devastating injury in his cup match. Not cool. :(
2007-07-04 16:15:07
Brent Jeffs, who has some NT potential, is on the TL.
2007-07-04 16:16:53
And Edwards new owner has confirmed he will be getting technique training.

Those 3 items could all have been 1 post. My brain does not seem to be functioning particularly well this morning. :S Still working on my first cup of coffee.

I doubt that Jeffs will sell, i'm just testing the market to see if the inflation REALLY IS that high.

And i've also got too many striker trainees, check your sk mail in a sec
2007-07-05 03:12:23
you probably wont sell him then for 2million
however i think you will get 2mill for him if you put him up on 16:00-18:00 ;)

1. Lietuva 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
2. Perú 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
3. New Zealand 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
4. Chile 0 0 0 0 0-0 0

its alright i guess... i think we're pretty evenly matched with Peru and Chile and would definitely like to see Dumb/Jackel lose to "the next NT coach who is possibly the one we have this season"
2007-07-07 08:58:32
Decent draw I think. Perú and Chile are both respectable squads, but ones New Zealand has a fighting chance against. Lithuania is pretty tough, but essentially all the 1 seeds were.
2007-07-07 09:05:45
Certainly not an impossible task for NZ to qualify from that group.

If you could somehow get a result against Lietuva, it would practically qualify you though.
2007-07-07 17:13:18
I followed Group D very closely during qualifying, and feel pretty good about my knowledge of Peru. I also have a good sense of the strengths of the Lithuanian team. I (admittedly) do not know alot about the Chilean squad.

IMO it comes down to depth and form. If the New Zealand players stay fit, and some of the stars improve their form, I would consider New Zealand a favourite to advance. But the 2-3-4 teams are close enough that if cards and injuries become a problem, or form continues to erode, it could be very tough.

I like New Zealand's chances. Tho I suspect both Peru and Chile look at the group and think the same. :)
