Canada's keeping situation is similar to New Zealand's. Parker sold earlier this season for 6.5 million, and he was in lousy form and is past training age - I expect Taylor will easily surpass that sum.

Parker never did get the full pace training necessary to become a truly elite keeper - I'm optimistic Taylor will avoid that pitfall.

Got up a little early to watch Taylor go. Actually got involved in the bidding - had no intention to. For a while it looked like a dedicated technique trainer was going to get him.

He went a little cheap. Second last bid was from a clear pace trainer. Winning team trains defenders - I'm optimistic he will receive training, but not convinced of it.

Club received 250 220 NZ$ from transfer of junior Kaz Taylor.

Yay! out of the negatives!!

Want me to help convince him to train pace? =]

I'm still waiting to here back from him. Save the strong arm tactics for now. ;)

My interpretation of that is he won't be training pace.

"nowadays paces shielders" - probably the literal turning from that is shielding against pace, as the line before that suggests the user has already trained that a fair bit.

Agreed - I would interpret "nowadays paces shielders" as "currently training tackling". :S

I probably should have bought him. I could have trained pace for the rest of the season while arranging a sale to a pace trainer. (My starting keeper is even injured right now :P).

My slow dial-up connection & lack of coffee didn't help the thought process. Oh well. With any luck we're off base and he will continue to be improved.
