Heehee. Was just a couple of striker trainers griping. Hadn't intended for you to take it up with the big guy. :)
The concern was that striking is undervalued. That a player can achieve a "very nice lob" by passing the ball at the net (no shot = no striking) does little to quell those feelings.
I appreciate that they have reduced the probability of the event. I only watched 2 matches on the weekend, and it happened in one of them (which is why it still seemed a high probability event to me - my fault for only watching two games :D).
Yes, it's fine to have goals like this. But (IMO) more goals should be scored as shots then passes from this distance, and it should take a reasonable amount of striking to accomplish the feat. I expect it is like this - and it's just the small sample of games that is giving a different impression.

Thanks for the kind words. :)
Too bad about your math teacher. Doesn't sound very good. Hopefully your next one is better - math can be kinda fun.

A couple final questions.
What do you think of the current state of the team?
New Zealand still has some of the nicest non-Polish strikers going. In Taylor, it seems the team is finally getting a top flight keeper. The sturdy defense and rugged midfield mean the squad has the ability to put a scare into almost anyone.
The big concern at the moment would be form. Hird appears to have indulged in too many post-game pints and pastries - he looks terrible. Bodger seems intent on joining him in the depths. Only keepers show poor form worse then forwards. :( It would really help if these lads could turn it around.
What would the first order of business be if you were elected?
Aside from preparing for the Qualifications, adding a few U21 players would be a top priority. With the age update, there isn't a full U21 line-up currently on the roster. U21 games are especially nice during qualification seasons - spares the regulars from potential cards and injuries, and gives the (smallish) training perk to the youngsters who can make the most advantage from it.

What is that rule anyway? You're higher in the alphabetical order atleast.
Oh dear.
Have to admit though, I chuckled a bit when I saw both of you had received a mammoth three (3) votes each. Humongous!

Very unfortunate it was a draw. When I saw 7 votes, I had hoped for a decisive winner.

And three of those go to III Division Moo XI's manager, who had no official thread.
Go figure.
