4 AM here. *yawn*

You stayed up late or stood up early? :p Anyway, you're showing a great interest in the NT which is good :)

Congratulations for the victory. But ¿what are a 29 year old player on the field? Come on. Revolution.

Maybe because he's the best one that place? :) It's normal that seca plays with the best team at the WC. btw nice win seca ;)

Congratz to a nice victory!

Heehee. You should take it as a good sign for young Smith that I am compelled to play a 29 year old in midfield. :)

Yes true..jaja, this is the positive thing.

Magoma, of course I imagine that he is the best in his position but I've seen that seca want our sincerely opinion and that's what I give.

Whatever New Zealand do, it's obvious that there are much more better NT. That's the reason why I think that the important is the future not the present, the present has to be the road to a great national team. And avoid placing a player that has posibilities to grow (not robert that I think he is not good enough to play nowadays)(its said that the nt players train a 33% more per week) it's one step back.

Seca, please, I say in a positive way. I hope it doesn't bother anyone (it's easy to criticize when you are not in)

You know you dont have to stay up till 4am to watch the game... I dont expect even the most fanactic sokker manager to stay up till 4am plus aftermatch comments ;)
Like I predicted 4-0 or 5-0 :D Things were looking a bit grim at halftime, our strikers were doing impossible shots. But interesting to see them play very wide mayhaps a little less wider.

I'm really interested in Roza. I always thought of Roza as a gamble striker so I never took the chance to play him. I know he's got the highest striking amongst the other strikers and really nice defending. I shall not comment on other skills ;)

Goodgame. Keep it up!

There were lots of smileys in my response. I don't think anyone is bothered by your post. :)

With respect to training, the general understanding (ok, my understanding :D) is that league matches are worth 95%, friendlies 90%, and NT 33%. But those numbers are in isolation. Training can't exceed 100%. So a player that plays a league match and an NT match only gets 5% benefit from the NT match. Nice - and it does add up - but it's not the monstrous bonus you are suggesting.

I debated about using Pritchett today because I felt the caliber of the opposition would allow the use of a lesser player. If Matthews or Richards had been in better form, it would have made the decision more difficult.

I quite like Roza. I have a smaller scaled version of him on my club (Broussard), so I have a few ideas about how to use him. The NZ has wonderful depth at striker - opens alot of tactical options.

The key game in the group (Canada - Croatia) goes in a few minutes. Not sure if anyone is around and plans to watch, but here are a few key players to keep an eye on if you do.

Sean Amado is Canada's most dynamic offensive threat (and star of my club team).
Felix Iginla is a beautiful multi-talented offensive middie who often quarterbacks the Canadian offense.
Joe Parker is an elite keeper who couldn't stop a beach ball last season, and that was when his form was decent.

I don't know much about Croatia ... yet. :)

The Canada - Croatia match was interesting. Croatia looked to have things in hand until they lost a defender to a red card. Canada exploited the vacant flank for 2 goals, and Croatia then had to rally for the draw.

I always like it when my main competitors draw, so I think this is a good result for New Zealand. :)

Indeed, gives us a chance to beat either Canada or Croatia to gain a spot instead of only having the chance to defeat one for a spot.

Who knows, we might finish 1st :)

Bodger's injury throws a bit of a wrench into this week's plan. He might be SI by Saturday, but would still be extremely hobbled by his knock. He's been ruled out.

Most likely I will stick with the planned formation and insert Chadwick or Roza (think Roza fits the scheme better) into Bodger's spot.

Need a win. 3 points along with the current goal differential should secure a 3rd seed in next season's World Cup. Will notify managers of participating players after the form/training update.

Underway in the final Q-match. :)

Tactic is based on last weeks, except with a winger (Atkinson) split out to the right. The central forward (Hird) drops back a little to fill the vacuum created by that move.

Hird takes freebies and penalties. Richards takes Matthews at 60. Herbert replaces Atkinson shortly after. Chadwick for Gilbert late in the match. Kelly covers the back three in case of referee difficulties.

Hoping to improve upon the +5 from last time, but the 3 points is really all that should be needed to get a 3rd seed in the World Cup.
